To the person who commented on the Erie Intern Program, were you referring to the measurement solutions interns or the former Penn state design center interns? I was a member of the design center once upon a time under Kyle, Pat and eventually Catherine. They were good managers it was subsea that didn't know what to do with us and outright prohibited us from working on measurement solutions work even when we asked.

Temps still working
And the " identified" promoted manager(rookie) in charge of the interns is still there, jumping over MANY more qualified senior dedicated engineers (20 plus years) for an unearned future career there
The Erie Engineering intern program was so poorly managed that half the kids spent most of the day sitting around looking at their IPhones or searching the internet. Wasn't their fault though, it was the poor planning and mismanagement of the people that hired them. I never interviewed a single one of them and most times no one would bring them around and bother to introduce them to me. Finally after watching these bored kids for a couple weeks or a month looking for a chance to learn and actually have something to do I would go introduce myself and give them a small project or task. Once they completed that I would increase the size of each project thereafter. Great intentions with the pretty building and flags out front but very poorly implemented. Sometimes I think it was nothing more than a PR stunt with the local University up the road.
Finally ... what the hell they been doing there all this time when full time dedicated employees are getting axed.
ALL temps are gone Friday.
