From Intel Board here - FM 101 in Oregon Announced Major Re-Org For Intel

Post ID: @KBDTd4U

Fm 101 at 8:19 this morning said that Intel is going through a major re-org. They did not give the details on layoffs etc, but what they did say was that Intel is focusing on the connectivity of devices rather than the devices itself. This is telling. I suspect Intel is getting out of IOT/wearables and just staying with Servers.

Oh well..

If you're not looking here already, Intel's 10Qs usually have info on the scale of planned playoffs (usually underreported). From the Q3 filing:

"In the second quarter of 2016, our management approved and commenced the 2016 Restructuring Program to accelerate our transformation from a PC company to one that powers the cloud and billions of smart, connected computing devices. Under this program, we are in the process of closing certain facilities and reducing headcount globally to align our operations with evolving business needs and improve efficiencies. We expect these actions to be substantially completed by the second quarter of 2017… The program is on track to meet our previously announced goal of a net reduction of approximately 12,000 positions globally."

I agree. This post came up during lunch today at the Sushi House. A group of us are pretty disheartened by this and a number of other issues at WR. We are trying to stay positive but it's tough.

No problem. We all have to stick together.

I was hoping management would communicate with us and try to be transparent, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

This actually makes sense (in light of all things we are observing) - it's not good for us...

Thanks for sharing this thread.
