Basically if you are an expat and can not honestly say that you have something extraordinary to offer the company, I'd say you are best off leaving the ship on your own terms before you get chucked headfirst overboard. Good luck!

We are special. So special that we decline the offer to jump ship and prefer to have the 25 exit steps done for us rather than tracking down the 2-3 ghost employees per step that have to check off on a voluntary exit. It appears to be extremely painful. Thanks for the suggestion!
