One can't get ahead at Intel without buying into the x86 koolaid.
This chicken / egg problem, beyond Murthy and his Qualcomm cast offs nobody at Intel has any innovative non x86 DNA, pretty much a bunch of mindless minions
I've heard Intel managers speak out of their asses about "how great the atom" processor is.
Without x86 Intel is left to compete on power consumption, price and performance. Even if it could be competitive vs ARM, there's nothing to justify the big margins that Intel is addicted to from x86. No fab advantage or economy of scale in production that TSMC has, or ARM/Softbank low development cost and capital expense overhead. It's a lost cause for Intel. That's why BK talks about realsense and all that other crap. He's looking for some secret sauce that will justify the margins that Intel needs.
Cool story bro
@K9ZKGBQ-1sxz The best is not getting paid but instead paying someone to take your cra@p no wonder we sold 40million and lost billions.
Remember PSO? The man that said we like to get paid twice - once for the fab and then again for x86.
What Mr. Genius didn't realize is that Intel gets paid ZERO for bullish!t products. Just give up x86 already. It lost to ARM - the game is long over.
Executives in reviews of products like tablets, phone apps processors and now IOT should ask hard and detailed questions about x86 choices and PPAC benefits compared to other alternatives but at intel it isx86 or the highway and management blindly follows dogmatic paths and is it any wonder product after product has failed and lost billions?
Same old story, no breakthroughs. IoT is on path to certain failure using x86 as base architecture which has been severely tarnished thanks to BK and his brilliant executive staff.
This is really worth the read. It is Very Accurate, not SemiAccurate! Anyone who has seen the IOTG Quark and sub-Quark roadmap(s) change weekly over the last two years can attest.
IoT is just a rinse and repeat of x86 for mobile and tablets same old delusional arrogance that showing up with x86 on leading edge silicon is the answer.
Sorry customers care about price, features, powers and software stack. Having leadership in x86 but not price, features or software is just another mobile repeat. Years and billions spent with nothing but another egg in face. This time intel has no time and backup as process leadership is gone and x86 volumes continue to drop as beyond server nobody gives a cr@p about their laptop as long as it boots up.... all this 2:1 and thin and light is yawner, nobody give a cluck.
It is amazing that the wall street analysts don't call BK on this, but the smart analyst aren't analysts they have placed bets and are rich investors not sorry and stupid stock analyst...
Only a company as internally-focused, arrogant and out of touch with actual developers and customers as Intel would declare victory with such crap.
What's worse is that no amount of reality will shock the present leadership into righting the strategic ship. Just fire more worker bees for not buying into the BK / Murthy vision fully enough.
what else is new?
