Is there anyone (except for management, of course) who likes it or finds it more efficient or sees any kind of benefits from it?

When we first moved (renovated) from offices in the perimeter and tall cubicles in the middle to offices towards the core and low height cubicles towards the windows we pretty much had the same reaction. But as time went by and as you get used to it, it's not bad at all. Except of course when there's someone uberly noisy in your area. Those people very soon learned not to be noisy. Some of the benefits are a more open/pleasing environment (not claustrophobic), lets natural light in, view of the outside world (not just for managers in their offices at the window), better collaboration between colleagues, etc. There's a separated area in our office that still have tall cubicles and for the life of me, I hope I don't get transferred to that area.
Of course, if your aim is to do your own thing, separated from everyone and maybe even some personal things that you shouldn't be done anyway, then yeah, the tall cubicles work better.
I would answer you, but still cannot hear my thoughts.
Cannot imagine there is.
