At least 15 were laid off on October 27, 2016 at the Overland Park office. I was grabbed about four hours before the earnings call. They gave a dismal severance package.
After the market closed that day, the company held it's 3Q earnings call. Shares tumbled the next day on the exchange by over 27%.
My understanding is that 20 IT employees were laid off from the Overland Park headquarters on October 27, 2016. My understanding is that those jobs were sent to India. I know 16 Inside Account Executives were laid off on November 3, 2016, nine from Overland Park and seven from Des Moines, IA. All the accounts belonging to those reps were sent to reps in the Philippines. Sales reps in Manila and Cebu is a very failed experiment, but YRC is locked in to a contract for Philippine employees and workplace buildings. Right before Thanksgiving 2016, numerous outside Account Executives serving local accounts around the country and numerous Corporate Account Executives were laid off. Not looking good. Stock took a dive.
