When I quit in 2014, I have been working at CSC full-time 8 years... I liked it as I was starting as movement between groups was supported and a common thing (It became harder later).
I really hated the fact that the exec leadership is out of touch, they did not know what's going on on clients.
My personal time was non-existent as management and account leaders will contact you on your time off - vacation=yes, sick=yes, baby is being born = yes, sure call him.
Also, CSC has horrible communication from execs to managers and staff. Finally, in 2014 we had so many layoffs in waves that I
got so fed up I had to leave - once they start laying people off they shift work to you so CSC pays you the same, they do not pay the other guy as CSC laid him off,
and you will be the one tasked with cleaning things up and making things happen for CSC. Nobody cares for the client, that's how it kind of works.
If you are laid off, trust me, you will be fine - the job market is pretty good if you have bus on tech skills, you will fine a better job in no time.
Finally, this whole thing with HPE will make things worse, so get ready. Do not be overly concerned, keep your chin up and move forward.
Life after CSC really exists.
