The next round of layoffs have started this week. They were delayed a week so that they didn't occur prior to the earnings announcement on Monday. Tuesday was CYBS, Wednesday the business and tomorrow is IT. Various rumors about the size but many sources say 800 people total. The majority in Foster City including a large number of women of 40!

@3fmy Is 800 just in FC or is that number global? Someone else posted saying as many as 1500 global. In the calls, what was the reasoning and logic behind who was (or will be) laid off? Are any departments being specifically targeted, or is this just a blanket layoff of older folks in order to cut expenses?
800 is very accurate, and its affecting all functions and all locations. They've been having calls every day for the past three weeks, to iron out all of the details. I've been on all the calls.
Today it is Foster City's Technology division's turn.
