Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

I worked there for almost 10 years and nothing unethical about the enrollment part. They actually was very strict. If caught making any promises....you got fired. I think the enrollment end is being focused too strongly. Look elsewhere, because it wasn't Enrollment Specialist. All the ITT Tech schools used the same presentation and script. We had shoppers visiting all the campuses often thru out the year making sure that rules were being followed and if not....again...you were released from your position. Also, I saw a lot of success from ITT Tech. There are no perfect schools. Everyone will not be happy at any institution. You will always find unhappy people. I hope this helps... Thanks.

I think it's great to see former ITT recruiters respond here, though i don't know if anonymous going to help the situation, at least might offer aid as to how to approach certain legal things for folks more in a position to do something about this mess, the more info they can have about the day to day operations, how and why they did things, the better

Schools like ITT and Corinthian are the worst examples of corporate welfare out there. Just total leeches on society.

Your the idiot . Do really think employers inquire about the specifics of the company you work for or the skills and experience, particularly when fault is with the CEO and executive management. Dispute what I say but if it's happening to you then review hoe you are presenting yourself

And , no idiots didn't enroll. The term idiot here refers to the name calling . Move forward with life , screw Kevin Gene Barry and hq troopers that s---ed up to them .

Yep. And that's the kind of response that deserves a lot of questioning. Good luck on your job interviews with that boat anchor ITT on your resume. At least the students can get debt relief, you are the one stuck with ITT on your resume. Who is the idiot now?

Who cares about the idiots that enrolled at the schools. If they would have had a smidgeon of a brain, they wouldn't have enrolled in the first place. I have my own bills to worry about, so screw them.

I have found that different schools in different specific parts of the country used different enrollment spiels to prospective students and also that during specific times different methods were used. ITT went through probably a dozen (or more) different methods when I was an employee in financial aid. Enrollment rules, methods and required paperwork were changed around constantly by upper management. I was employed at ITT from 02/2008 - 01/2012.

How were you taught to enroll people, both formally and informally? Learned boring presentation and like a robot spit the information back to the prospective student. Don't deviate from the robotic script was golden rule.

Was there any way you classified different potential students? Those that sat and didn't. Those that would return my calls after the most boring presentation ever and those that would go straight to voicemail.

What people were most vulnerable to the sales pitches? The students that couldn't read the graduate disclosure statement that they e-signed. You had how many graduates and how much did they make was a question I didn't want to go over again.

Were there some people who just wanted a stipend? Some would ask and you would defer to FA. FA would then say to the student it would be unlikely that a student would receive a stipend.

What were veterans like to enroll? So easy. Most not interested in quality of education. Only concerned when they would receive BAH.

How were you rewarded or punished? Always punished it was never good enough. Some type of variance meeting weekly depending on who my DOR was and if they were taking their job serious that week.
