If I am doing the math right, this will translate to 200 to 250 people being laid off. I know Harley Davidson did not disclose how many people will be cut and what levels or locations are being affected, my estimate is based on numbers. I am assuming that it costs them about 100K to lay off a single person, so 10 folks will be a million, 100 folks for 10 million, 200 folks for 20 million.
Job cuts are never fun, I hope they can salvage some of the jobs they plan to cut. Harley is not the only company that's cutting jobs right now, there are cuts in the industry - on the automotive side, Ford is doing 13,000 layoffs, most temporary layoffs and more will come.
Good luck to all.
