4kbw: There are alturnatives to the private career schools for a lot less money. Most vocational schools offer evening trade education in plumbing, automotive, electrician, brick laying and more. Some community colleges also offer those plus all the classes Everest has. Penn State University offers most of the trade education through their Penn Tech campus, again at a lot less money.

Will not happen due to Everest on financial probation with ACICS. Per upper management they will resolve by November 2016.

The problem is finding students that can figure out which end of a screw driver you put on the screw. I wouldn't let a WyoTech graduate near my car or truck. Of course they all graduate no matter how incompetent they are. WyoTech's competency tests are just suggestions, not required passing.

The last time I heard, state-run schools don't teach carpentry, plumbing, etc. Who do you call when you need a craftsman? Certainly not someone with a degree in history or women's studies.

3lgk - correct. ZEG fill the void......since state supported schools are unwilling to offer substandard education at premium rates to unmotivated, incapable "students" who seek a worthless degree from a "school" with no credibility. Your are right - ZEG does serve a purpose. FYI, I am not "hoping" the school fails, just looking at the facts and predicting it.

What ever happened to the switch from ACICS to ACCSC for the Everest schools? That was announced over a year ago by Hawn that Zenith was working on switching accreditation from ACICS to ACCSC after the DOE tipped him off that they were dumping ACICS this year. I know that ACCSC refused to accredit some of the Everest schools, that's a big reason they are in teach out, but what is going on with the rest?

While not being a corporate hack and not always having a positive attitude about the ECMC corporate, micro-management approach, I must admit that, one, there were no RIFs on Friday so, the Trolls are zero for that one. Also, there has been a slight up-tick in enrollment even if it is only by ten students. The fact of the matter is that CCi took Everest and WyoTech down to an extreme low and that climbing back up that ladder is a huge and slow task. All of you trolls who are feeding on the negative (I'm hoping everyone fails) will be finding it a little harder to convince readers that it is the end for these schools. Sure, it's not all rosy, but don't discount the fact that these schools fill a void that is not fulfilled through federal/state funded schools.

There was no RIF today, but it will be coming soon. Our accreditor lost its accreditation, so that's more bad press that will cause us to lose more potential students. Even if we switch to a new accreditor, the damage has already been done. For-profit and career colleges are in the news again, and not for any good reasons. Eventually, the pool of poor, misguided students will dry up.

Understand that everything has an end including money from ECMC. They will cut their losses soon.

Daytona, 40 grads, 50 starts, however if you take a bunch of grads and roll them over to the marine side you have another new start. Thank you GI money. Thank you pretty girl in the office. It looks good on paper and that's the name of the game. Banker experience is a plus in this business.

It's not Podesta Group that has money invested in Zenith, it's ECMC. They've already lost close to 200 million dollars on this experiment and put up another 250 million. Their losing millions on the schools already in teach out and they are not going to keep losing money on schools that aren't showing a return. ECMC will cut their losses and close more schools that haven't had increases in enrollments.

This is the rock with no IQ. Peter Taylor has lots of money to spend and it isn't his money. Zenith can threaten to close schools, but as long as the Podesta Group wants to throw money away, the Everest and WyoTech schools will remain in open. It's not about success, it's about the money and who controls it. But heck, I'm just a rock, what do I know? Follow the money...

Plus they reduced the number of recruiters. You don't terminate recruiter positions if you are not planning a reduction in campuses.

Evidence, back in April we were given a reprise to stay open with the understanding that we had to start a minimum of 300 students in September. Plus we had a budget of 50 doubles to meet along with the 300 new starts. Friday we totaled less than 240 starts and doubles combined. That means we missed our minimum budget by over 100 students. Since January and April are our lowest starts, this would indicate a student population of around 150 - 200 next spring. So, if Peter Taylor holds us to the budget we won't be around much longer.

You don't have to be a troll to accurately forecast the imminent demise of Wyotech and Everest. You only need to be conscious and have an IQ higher than that of the average rock. Need hard evidence? Look at the starts for your campus for the past year.

It is normal for trolls to not have have any evidence, or proof to back up their rhetoric.

It looks like this was the last start for WyoTech Blairsville. Came in way under the 300 needed to keep going. Shame it has come to this, but the writing has been on the wall for a year. We were told the only chance we had was to enroll a minimum of 300 new starts this September and we fell short.

This is what I know. Decisions for the next rif are/will be made soon, for wyotech Blairsville and Laramie! If you think you are going to be tether go, leave, before that decision is made for you. Things are not looking good!

WyoTech registration today

Numbers coming in lower than expected. Decisions are being considered as I write this on how to move forward. This was to be the largest start of the year because all other starts are always lower.
