Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Here today.. Gone tomorrow...

I was glad to be hired by Staples.. many years ago.. but after many years of hard work.. and worry.. The future looked very cloudy.. more hard work.. with a lousy f---ing raise of .25 cent a year... I was rewarded with a job offer I job I couldn't refuse.. bye bye Staples.. good luck to all.. on a sinking ship...

I left a year ago after 9 years. I could not be happy. Loved the people I worked with. Enjoyed the customers but got tired of the work harder for a little money. Now I make $3.75 more and sit on my butt.

My last year there, I go a ZERO raise! That was despite getting the corporate standard 3 out of 5 overall on my evaluation. Which BTW, my manager FAILED to even go over with me and messed it up on the Hub! The year prior, I think I netted out 25 cents. Glad you got the heck out of there and not have to deal with them any more!

I was a g.m. for staples for many years . When staples changed there pay structure I was embarrassed giving out pay increases as low as15 cents. Having to look at an associate that did everything ask of them and you reward them with practically nothing. You made the right decision by leaving. I did the same thing after 14 years. I know longer wanted to be part of a company that treats people the way the do.
