I know a lot of Dutch were laid off but left with good severance. Well, in times like this, if you are an Indian national, you are quite safe and happy. For now. Wait till the oil price go up again and focus will be back to central office.

I agree if you are dutch you come in as a new grad and retire as a VP. Nobody let go all it happened in Hague some older employee that are not a fit to VP roles got offered a big fat package to retire. Others are just commodity in this company they come and go

I am so glad I left. The Dutch started apartheid. Sooo. It's not meant to be fair. It's meant to benefit the Dutch. I made a sh-- load of money and then saw it was time to leave. Made another sh-- load of money with the VS. signed exit papers

one day and entry papers elsewhere next day. It looks ssoo good on your resume - royal f---ing dutch shell. It will get you anywhere. Except up in Shell. If you're not Dutch

Ya right, im sure only the expats and foreighers were let go! We all know how difficult is it to fire a Dutch employee in Holland, thanks to the social politics of that country.......in the US, corporates can get away with whatever they want to do to the employees, so the purge is at will..........please, don't compare sony, Exxon or Aramco for that matter with Shell, those are the tittans and shell with all its mickey mouse leadeship is a joke compared. Their whole leadrship model is based on manipulating others and egocentric self image while managing up not down to make sure you get promoted. I have had my fair share of leadeship all the way down to the team leads and by no mean i would considet it as a model, to the contrary its the worse by all standards..........

Tons of people were let go in "Holland". You know what, I bet a lot Japanese work in key jobs at Sony, just like I bet there a lot of Saudis in key jobs at Saudi Aramco. So guess what, plenty of Dutch and Brits working at Anglo-Dutch Royal DUTCH Shell...! And yes, in key jobs, imagine that! If you don't like working for a foreign company maybe Exxon or Chevron would have been a better match.

that is the Shell way, i wonder if anyone in Holland was let go....i bet you no one was. So you do business in the US then dump its people if it doesn't make you money anymore? i don't know how to qualify this anymore......
