Daniel Webster College faces a serious hazardous waste problem, but the money needed to fix it is now missing, according to Southern New Hampshire University President Paul LeBlanc.
LeBlanc told the Board of Aldermen that DWC has "significant asbestos questions" on Wednesday, according to The Telegraph. He said that ITT Educational Services Inc. had set aside $2 million for the asbestos cleanup, but that money has not been found.
LeBlanc also said that the number of ITT employees went from 8,000 to 80 following the closure of its campuses but, over the last 48 hours, all remaining employees were let go.
SNHU has put in an offer to purchase DWC, LeBlanc said to the aldermen, but it has not heard back from any representative of ITT. SNHU is currently assisting DWC by offering a continuation of all degree programs for Daniel Webster College students.
