Pay Cuts by Switching to Hourly

As of November 2016 all ASM pay will have to bee accounted as hourly rate.

I had to tell my ASM about this change, I showed my ASM the paper the corporate sent us with their equations. First words were so I'm getting a pay cut?

Their calculation divides your weekly pay by 40 +(4*1.5) or 46 hours. The first thing that came to mind is overtime. We are still not allowed to have overtime on our budgets.

This means around $7,000 a year pay cut. Even worse my ASM was a MGT promotion, they said they made more per hour as an MGT than an ASM.

This seems to be the the new wave of transition with Federal guidelines knocking down salary employees because they do not make 52K a year. I suppose they didn't think they would just cut their pay when they passed legislation.

Since CVS drop tri care , get ready for alot patients coming to pharmacy. FedEx packages also coming to the store. This company is going to overwhelm their employees with work. They need to give more hours..

The employee labor model they implemented 2 years ago despite a high level executive telling them it would not work is now being dismantled why? Because it does not work! Position are being cut and Walgreens will once again be offering

Retirement packages to MVPs and super DMs as they enlarged the size of the areas each will cover

Shift Leaders are expected to pick up all the slack of any leaving employees and cut hours in photo and pharmacy!

Work is crazy at holiday and they keep giving us more to do because they gave us a .30 cent raise! Everyone on the floor got between 10- 25'cents.

So over worked and under payed. May just walk out Christmas day cause we're so understaffed!!!

Pharmacy technicians here in California are being forced to work like donkeys while getting there hours cut! We have not been 40 hrs a week for a few years now...the company is expecting super customer service n demanding us to answer all phone calls by the 2nd ring..Yet the company is upset cause we cant have prescriptions ready by promise time...

I agree, it is just a matter of time, I have been here 17 years, the last two have been degrading & humiliating,how they expect emp. To be motivated when little by little they keep emptying our pockets.

This is only the beginning. ASMs who thought would be promoted to EXA, MGTs or even store Managers are a long memory. Walgreens is slowly copying the business frame work of CVS and is slowly making employees think they are not in financial trouble. The billionaire Italian owner is all bout his profits and the profits of the large company investors. There is no future for ASMs or MGTs in a company who is slowly and cowardly pushing good employees to ship out. Unless you kiss a-- or are related to a DM or VP you are not getting promoted. Cosmeticians are getting cut!! Requiring Cosmeticians to get a degree of some sort when the DM does not have a college degree is a dictatorship of a business model!! Walgreens is going down slowly and surely. It is just a matter of time. I saw it coming and just decided to go back to school and watch Walgreens burn slowly.
