Now that back to school is over, how did everyone do? Make budget? Was it a successful season for your store?

Don't worry, it won't last to much longer. They want 50 more closures this year, and I expect them to announce up to 250 in 2017 and 2018.

As leases come to an end in 2019 and 2020 the closures will double. They don't want you retail workers, start looking now!! Get out on your own terms. As closures ramp up severance will virtually be nothing. This is why they are trying to drive out long term associates. Paying 2 weeks to a relatively new manager or associate is better than the 10-12 weeks a tenured employees would qualify for.

We didn't do well. Understaffed, poor scheduling by manager on truck days, no way near the previous years. Definitely less traffic in the store this year. But still too much for 2 people to recover at night.

If we had more staff to ring register and fill needed product it would of helped conversion and dpt. Saw a lot of walkouts on peak days because of register lines and low stock. As said, hard to really care when you're so unsure of where you stand. I already closed one store a few years ago after a pretty successful bts. I learned that the decision to close had been made May of that year.

I was transferred but I have that same feeling my gut and heard a few rumors. Got the cv updated and posted either way. It's pretty much impossible to run a store the way it should be nowadays. Just have to have a good idea on what metrics they are focusing on this month and know what they are looking for on visits. Serving customers is a tertiary priority

Busy, but severely understaffed every day. We came close to hitting peak days last year but inability to fill product left holes killed some sales. Worst year ever. I would of tried harder and cared more if things were not so uncertain.

Why work 80 hrs a week, killing yourself when they can decide to close your store whether you have a good bts or not.
