I am one of the 48 techs that got laid off , the real blame goes to the management that decided to take over the job of the vendors servicing the photo dept.
10 years ago it wasn't necessary other than for there own benefit , if they left the depots as they were there would be no need for layoffs because we would not be over staffed with tech's when the service went back to the vendors.
After losing the hips $$$ but still expected to take care of these,I just laugh and watch it crumble
Tech's hired before the old managment decided to take over the photo vendor service would still have their jobs if that decision was not made. The layoffs by the new management were due to surplus tech's.The old management were nothing more then tech's that got promoted .
Is it the "old mgmt's" fault that they got rid of these guys and THEN offered them lower paying positions in different areas? The old mgmt would have never gotten rid of them and if they had to they would've offered them the transfers first! The new guys at the top are crooked as heck and they are doing everything they can to eff us out of every little penny.
