Greed - plain and simple. A greedy self-absorbed maniacal narcissist at the top surrounded by a bunch of equally greedy pigs at the money trough of federal student loans. None of them cared about education, their staff or the students.

That pain funnel stuff is so old...and was never part of any active recruiting material I'm aware of (this goes back 10 years).
ITT failed because the folks in Carmel charged way too much, for a mediocre product...which drove away those more capable students who upon graduation would be able to provide value to an employer.
Add to that, an abject disregard for customer service, a very sneaky pricing scheme (that's the Opportunity Scholarship), a general failure to invest back into the business, and ignoring the sliding reputation of the school.
