Thread regarding Best Buy layoffs

Job cuts this fall (2016)?

So, as far as I know, store in Topsham (about 40 people), two stores in Baltimore area (more than 100 jobs), and the one in Lawrence (60 people) to be closed soon. That's more than 200 people to be sacked, with the lame excuse that all of them can apply for positions in other areas. Like that would happen. Anyone knows which other stores will be closed or reduced this fall?

Best buy has closed stores in Des Moines & now at end of October they are closing another one in Iowa. Offering severance is good but taxing it 34% isnt good. Offering jobs to the younger people but for the older employees we are just screwed. Unemployment benefits or a low paying part time job is all the elderly gets to look forward too...its bull

It's unrealistic to expect that people will be transferred, it almost never happens, it's lame to show that as a 'benefit' as it never happens. My view may be tainted as I am in NE and it's really tough out there
