can somebody clue me in on "teabags" ---did I miss a post somewhere---what happened?
If it is a laugh, I could use one now
I continue to be amazed at how deep into some veins the coporate kool-aid has saturated. Im am neither insane or malicious, as another poster tried to say, but a true realist.
Logic tells an intelligent person that when a mysterious, unprecedented extra "comp day" is given, and employees are paid early on a non-pay week, and with a different check amount, and even a second check deposited, of varying amts among employees, that something very bad is happening to your under federal investigation and federal demand employer. Like they are CLOSING DOWN FOLKS. Im not insensitive to what that means to students and employees, Hell, I AM an employee!! (Was, of Friday) Im just tired of seeong how desperately under informed the employees are about the facts of their employer/employment.
You can twist and turn and rehash info, but the sum of any of these postulated theories ends the same way.
And then the other poster will understand: sometimes when one speaks the truth, thry are rebuked for that truth, but it doesnt change the TRUTH. Forreal.
ASSCLOWNS.... SIMPLY ASSCLOWNS
"dont deserve any idiots opinions of how bad the schools management is thank you."
Nor do those of us who got out of this crap-hole before now, because we acted on our observations that the school's management is really, really bad, deserve to be called idiots, thank you very much.
Saturday got a "send to all" email from the Regional Director thanking me for my service and saying that it was nice working with me.
pop goes the weasel.
Vocabulary lesson time,
"Is anyone in a teach out??" Teach-outs technically are not going to happen at ITT-Tech -- at least not in DOE and ACICS terminology. They happen at other schools.
That said, some existing ITT-Tech campuses (or sometimes just certain programs) already are in a status sometimes casually called "teach-outs" --- i.e. they have not been accepting new enrollments for a while, but have continued operations with existing students. South Bend, IN and Salem, OR for example. Lots of nursing programs have been in this status for a while, due to low nursing license exam pass rates at their school. This may be what is meant when some one says "my nursing program is teaching out!"
Has anyone been informed, officially, that their campus is definitely closing this week? Has any campus been told, officially, that their their campus and program will definitely "continue operations" next week -- not enrolling new students but continuing to teach current students?
The people who have expressed views about how bad ITT Tech's management are not "idiots".
To "dont deserve any idiots opinions." Thank you for update. What district?
Is anyone in a teach out?? if so, what state are u in and what program? That's my only hope for a few more months with a job until I can find a new one. I'm praying for a teach out at my campus.
Got paid on Friday, not a normal pay week. Told we have Tuesday off while they sort some stuff out. Saturday got a "send to all" email from the Regional Director thanking me for my service and saying that it was nice working with me. The fat lady is singing. We who have invested 10 years of 60 hour work weeks with a genuine concern for the students and their success, and, if like me, have nothing to show for it, a mortgage, kids and wife who depend on me and no job prospects, no notice, no severance pay, no vacation pay, no health insurance, dont deserve any idiots opinions of how bad the schools management is thank you.
Guess what!!!! We are in a teach out for Nursing !!!!!
The only way I'm showing up to work on Wednesday is if my Dean texts me to say that there's a severance check for me and to clean out my desk.
Since my desk was packed up on Friday and they will never pay us severance, good luck to everyone on the job hunt. I wish you all the best.
The last poster has illustrated an unfortunate human trait that exists in some people and borders, in my opinion, as a symptom of mental illness. Listen idiot. The employees are likely losing their jobs. Students' lives are being disrupted and they are facing the challenging decision of giving up career objectives so they can discharge their student loan debt.
Please leave these people alone and move on and enjoy the rest of your life's miserable existence.
For real this s for real!
Idiots. You were paid OFF, on a non-pay week, because all the accounts will be frozen at point of bankruptcy filing. I worked at Online for a decade. Did you expect an engraved personal announcement card.? Your job is over. Relax if you are able, then get a new job and move forward with your life. Stop discussing and rehashing known facts. The company has folded, there is no more discussion needed. Oh, but do log on to your work email about 4 pm Tuesday to read the final bit of distorted dysfunctional propaganda from a federally charged criminal accountant, Kevin Modany. Why bother to read that bull? He already smoothed you out the door Friday, promised you a surprise comp day that doesnt exist. Are you really so corporately brainwashed that you would log onto your work email with baited breath, anxious to read how a delusional little man spins this as the baaaaaad ED, baaaaad federal government ? Bad how, little tiny Kevvie? Is this the same baaaad federal government that padded your income all these years? Are they only baaad because they stopped your money gravy train? FOLKS, THIS MAN NEVER CARED ABOUT STUDENTS, THEY WERE JUST A TOOL FOR HIM TO USE TO DRAIN THE FED LOAN SYSTEM.
Why dont you understand this fact supercedes all other dumb rhetoric?
Im ashamed of all of you. I was positive I worked with intelligent people.......
If Kevin's a liar, how can I trust any emails of closing? Hell, I'm going to work on Tuesday because I think he's trying to trick me into a no call no show. Wasn't he just making us work the holiday a few weeks ago, and now he's concerned about me spending time with family? Sounds like you're the fools now. Better get to work tomorrow.
"Financial instability" is the big issue for ITT-Tech right now. DOE, ACICS, CalVet, WASC, Chubb, all the organizations you can think of are all calling ITT-Tech financially unstable. None of them will do business with financially unstable corporation.
No stroke of the pen can undo that situation. Doesn't matter whether it makes you feel happy or sad, if it is fair or unfair, overdue or not warranted at all, political or vindictive, stupid or brilliant, all their own fault or witch hunt by ____ fill in the blank, self-fulfilling or bad karma, ITT-Tech will still be financially unstable tomorrow, and next week, no end in sight.
And there are plenty of other things coming down the pike -- loss of accreditation (currently they are out of compliance, but is not revoked yet), SEC fraud case, CFPB predatory loan case, etc.
GO READ THE SEC FILINGS....IT SAYS PLENTY. THERE'S YOUR PROOF. Go research it. http://www.ittesi.com/index.php?s=127 ITT will have NO choice but to file BK following the reveal of the SEC filings. If you don't understand what they mean, just stop while you're ahead.
if hardly anybody wants to work there from here on out , how would it remain open?
"Hello, Obama, we need 1,000 more H1B visas to keep our school open"
But wait -- there's more! ITT- Tech has little income this next month!
ITT-Tech gets NO incoming federal student aid money at all for weeks! That's the HCM2 heightened cash monitoring rule, delaying when ITT-Tech gets to collect financial aid money for current students. Plus another rule says ITT can't get any financial aid for new students, so ITT-Tech has no new students paying in.
ITT-Tech is not getting any vet money in California, not getting any state financial aid money n Washington State, and maybe additional sanctions by now.
Outgoing payroll costs, lease payments, etc, on top of all the big big demands already mentioned in previous post.
Proof - Chubb canceled the surety bond of 19.8 mil, the DOE is requiring an additional 154 mil to continue to receive Title IV funding. That totals 175 million US dollars, PEAKS & CUSCO loans liabilitis are 74 mil this year alone. Hey, Einstein you think that f---ing pencil neck geek Mondany can pull that out of his a-- by Tuesday? Are you stupid or just work at HQ?
Whether ITT-Tech is officially closes this coming week, or this month, it is not going to be a nice school to spend hours in -- either in classes or in the office. If you can avoid it, get out.
It's not worth the money you are (maybe) getting to work there. Think you are doing it for the students? They know now what is going down, they can manage without you.
If you are student, it will be hell, so weigh that in to your decisions on which option to take.
"If hardly anybody wants to work there from here on out , how would it remain open?"
It is dying. From my experience, the standards are just going lower and lower as far as hires go. And maybe admissions, too. I don't think any director or dean has been too worried about qualifications or metrics at this point -- just hire anyone to teach a class that will say yes. Admit any student who will sign. You know how those placement data get fudged? Well, the same thing is happening with employee qualifications.
One of many reasons I don't teach there any longer is that the students were beginning to expect all kinds of bizarre things -- like being given answers, getting exam re-takes, no homework, dismissal after 90 minutes. Many students were becoming rude and disrespectful, and assuming the teacher was going to be some kind of dope! It was awful. And no chairs or deans. It was like monkeys running the zoo.
"These guys all get chubbys from spreading gossip from notable newsworthy sources like ... Gizmodo. " One thought-provoking part of an otherwise rather offensive post. I think the point is that this forum has its place for many of us, whether it is just ranting, or trying to inform the supposedly blindsided ones, or trying to predict the future.
But this anonymous forum is a jumping off place. For real change, put your name on something -- call your attorney general when you see crap going down. File complaints with ACICS! Hurray for the state nursing boards and charter school boards that publicly called ITT-Tech on their horrible academic practices. Many of you have come forward -- and that is the reason this diploma mill is getting shut down.
"Constantly treating employees like disposable irrelevant assets, means eventually they will have had enough--and that time is near. Who exactly, will be keeping it open?"
ITT has been treating academic staff like that for years. Welcome to the club.
If hardly anybody wants to work there from here on out , how would it remain open? Are they revamping their employee policies? & practices
These guys all get chubbys from spreading gossip from notable newsworthy sources like ... Gizmodo. Bunch of a-- clowns sitting behind a computer screen in mom's basement ... Probably the same ones that b--ched about being dropped from classes for not participating or showing up every two or three weeks and expecting a free pass. ASSCLOWNS .
I just got a paycheck this morning. Sorry, not going to post bank statements. It is odd to get it on a Saturday when payday is next Friday. I can't say for sure ITT is closing, but not looking good with the evidence at hand.
Isn't it academic arrogance that has outed a lot of ITT-Tech's biggest follies? While many employees and students claim being "blindsided," many current and former faculty were using critical thinking skills to expose this scam operation. Call it elitism or arrogance or whatever you want. And since academics has been given little thought at this diploma mill, academic thought processes may seem a little foreign or offensive to some.
Writer's statement:
"This is not a credible source for information, never has been and never will be."
Response:
With all due respect, a number of postings on this site include links to reliable specific resources that can be viewed through website links, and accurately paint what I'll characterize as a dim prospect of IIT Tech's survival. Yes, there are posts that contain suspect content. But it does not take a great deal of talent to filter those out. Academic arrogance does not bode well in a place like this.
Of course, from the information available I would say it is highly likely it will close down next week. Many people share this opinion.
And I understand your interest -- after all, even an anonymous forum for posting rumors is more reliable than what you have gotten from Kevin Modany. And there have been some terrific links posted here.
BUT you will not get PROOF here. PROOF will only happen as an announcement from DOE, or email from Modany, or SEC filing on ESI webpage, etc.
Constantly treating employees like disposable irrelevant assets, means eventually they will have had enough--and that time is near. Who exactly, will be keeping it open?
I guess you must be a new reader. Please note the large sign on this web page that says
"Comment! Its anonymous! Post information you know, rumors you heard, your experiences, or contribute to the discussion by answering or asking about layoffs at ITT Educational Services Inc."
Seriously, go back and review the material in your Composition One class. This is not a credible source for information, never has been and never will be.
