Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

ITT's current lack of communication with it's students and staff speaks to their lack of care and concern for either.

For the 7 years I worked there I saw them firing people or laying them off without any concern for them, such a heartless and cold company! The managers were cold and heartless as well, the DMs were greedy devils, all they cared about were more Sits (that's brand new students sitting in their very first class). The Director of Recruitment was making people cry and "motivating" with fear of losing their jobs to produce more students even though they were getting poor leads (some of them were just people who inquired about info 5 years ago!)... Such an aweful place!

"making their shareholders rich."

Stock was $133/share in 2009. It's trading at $0.36/share today. ITT never paid dividends. So how, exactly, did shareholders get rich?

How sad! The homeless will work for food, and here you were working extra---only for coffee. Says it all.

In the last decade ITT has had only ONE concern; making their shareholders rich. EVERY decision they have made during this time has been driven by this one directive. Students and especially staff/faculty have always been a tertiary concern at best...well, for the staff/faculty they are treated slightly better than the people that come in and water the plants everyone month...well, maybe not. :(

Just as an example, a director once told the recruiters at a school I worked at, that if they met this performance goal that he would buy them a brand new Keurig coffee maker. You know, the ones with the pods that make coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The team made the goal, and good to his word we got the new coffee maker. A week or two later, I saw the director hauling the machine out on a cart. We couldn't keep the machine because of cost cutting measures. There is only ONE reason to cut costs...shareholders aren't making enough money.

Urge students to transfer or contact the DOE for loan forgiveness. Staff members need to write up resumes and get going on interviews. Don't allow corporate to pull the puppet string on you. Leave.
