Intel technologist claim nothing offers more value to product power, performance and cost than a new generation. But Intel has been sliding the schedule of each new generation as the process gets more expensive PTD struggles and fails to bring them online on schedule. It is so bad that we now have three and likely four CPU generations on 14nm. Looks like TSMC is already starting 3nm beyond their 10nm which is ramping, their 7nm comes late next year and 5nm soon after while Intel 7nm continues to slip. The virtuous cycle of Moore has moved and Apple has enabled TSMC the confidence and money to invest like Intel once could in the 90s but they pi$$ed it all away!
Then you got FD-SOI which also looks pretty good
Lots of future ACTs are going to happen and the entertainment will be good, get out the popcorn as Intel got lots of factories with nothing to run. I'd say BK and the senior management of TMG are really BKing it, LOL
