Not sure what's going on with EA right now but I was cut in 2012. If you are in doubt about your skills do not worry - your work at EA prepared you well - you also know how to deal with all that corporate BS as well. There is life after EA and you'll be fine - I hope the company is stable, it looks to me they are doing a really good transition to mobile - so good luck.
I've spent extra two years in a small gaming outfit and now I work for a consulting company - I've done well and even though I hated politics at EA I can tell you that was by far the best company I worked for.
Anyhow, good luck and I hope there will be no layoffs at EA in 2017 and beyond.
