I am disappointed in the posts that offer disparaging remarks. If you were / are unhappy with the company / leadership you should leave. If you were let go and now want to accuse others for that action, take a look in the mirror. Grow a pair an move on.

Such a sad state of affairs for a once great company. If VARCO guys were so unhappy for so long , holding personal grudges for more than a decade, where were the balls so big that they now drag on the floor ? NOV is systematically wiping all Arabs in the Middle East it's only a matter time the newly merged govt powers will get at them. For the millions NOV earns in the Middle East , how many nationals they employ in countries like the UAE will come to light soon. There will be some answering and damage control and that will be at a huge cost. Best as the saying goes, is yet to come!
Reading this 'character' post has compelled me to speak. NOV has shown little character by laying off several knowledgeable, hard-working, committed employees without a thank you. You might say, "That is the nature of the business." To date, NOV does not have criteria it uses to lay off employees. Those employees have families to take care of, which NOV showed little regard for. I can say for certain that quite a few employees who remain at the Eldridge facility are friends of management. If these employees earned the right to be there, great! However, many of them are there because of who they know...not what they know. Now, talk to me another day about character.
NOV is not the company to work for if you want good honest workplace, it's corrupt & unless your kissing butt you will never end up anywhere bar the exit!
Someone said it so right. Nov is a greedy corporation with no ethics. No respect for loyal people who have given their best to NOV. The people labelled VPs are the worst!! Starting with HR VPs particularly the one from Europe. No wonder Europe is a right Royal mess.

From what I've seen on this site is that every plant has the same problem. People that kiss butt get preferential treatment. I know it's true in Pampa Tx. Some people that have been laid off deserved it, but there are some here that should have been the first to go. Atleast it's company wide. That makes me very nervous about my future at NOV.

I think yourself should "grow a pair" and legit realize that this company has laid off loyal and professional men and women when there is a slump in our industry. How one can defend a greedy corporation that ruins the lIves of those who built it, and arrogantly defends the beast itself, is no person worthy of respect.
Why would any one leave this sh-- company with a-- wipe management and not get there bit you tool
