Company wide meeting Thursday

Never a good sign when they do this.

I wanted to make a small correction. It is only the assistants that will be going hourly. This will include AP/LP. The store managers already make over the 48,000 threshold.

All salaried mangers will be going hourly next month. That is what the meeting was about.

I can confirm that the meetings this Thursday are not about holiday prep. Those are separate and only at the store level. This is one of those certified Store Manager only meetings, and assistants are not allowed to attend. My belief is that it has something to do with the new overtime law going into effect on December 1. They are probably going to make some ASM cuts or make the ASMs be hourly employees. I am just speculating though.

@JF7kK6N-1yii Usually it would be discussing the setup type stuff for Thanksgiving & Black Friday but this year with Sears Holdings being in such dire straits, you never know what they might actually discussing during this years meeting on Thursday (think possibly bankruptcy or liquidation!).

Yep. Not a good sign to discuss Thanksgiving and Black Friday preparations. There is one of these meetings every year at the beginning of October.
