if I had a dime for every time a VP @ RNB expressed the fear of Apple going 100% to arm.... now this:

Intel is a source of many jokes in the Qcom boardroom as well.
No vision.
Cluelessness.
Seriously out of touch.
@JEJclCV-zlj. Yes capacity is little but not strategic and better to keep it as a negotiating tool 😉 As you know to walk away would cause the stock to drop 4-5 dollars at a minimum and the continued use of x86 insures crazy price concessions on the modems and cpus too. As soon as it is required they could walk away but billions are saved and letting designers and resources focus on other things far more smarter. You can't believe the jokes I have heard about what they say in the fruit boardroom about VR, watches, drones and reality TV shows, LOL
Macs are very low volume. TSMC capacity would be affected by some small rounding error.
When ARM outperforms Intel (already happening in the A10), then Macs will move.
Apple wants to control the entire compute stack from hardware up to software. Intel is too slow and expensive. A big liability for Apple that wants to move faster.
The fruit company is given the most preferential treatment in terms of first choice on the latest CPU, custom solutions and prices that would be the envy of the rest of the PC makers. Since they really have no competition except themselves it makes little sense to move to ARM and use valuable TSMC capacity.
If and when they move will signify how far TSMC and the ARMy has come and how far x86 and BK have fallen that a ARM chip is superior in a marketplace with no competitors and supplied and crazy discount that Fruity would move.
ACT2 and ACT3 are all but certain, do you have your exit plan ready?
Wiah I could sell my remaining shares of Intel but cannot due to tax reasons. Stock will drop on this news when announced.
