Thread regarding CA Technologies (CA Inc.) layoffs

Brought to light a security threat of their "newest" software being used in the financial sectors. A month later I got my notice and a threat.

CA holds your severance pay over your head just to make sure you keep your mouth shut even if what you brought to light could cost some BIG financial institutions hundreds of millions of dollars if a hacker found out passwords were being transmitted in clear text. CA already had sold and implemented this to numerous credit card processing companies and did not want this coming to light until they could fix it. Worst part of it all is the security threat was listed right in the "insider" CA manual - not to be used for companies involved with CPIs (Credit processing institutions). No ethics. Only interested in the quick $$. (of course they say it is fixed now).

@PTSD. Stop spreading FUD. I was laid off, but was treated respectfully by CA. They are extremely ethical.

I've been with CA a very long time and have officially been laid off twice. Thankfully, there were folks who knew my value, respected my work and dedication and pulled me into their groups. Once it was immediate. I didn't miss a day of working. Once was completely out of the blue and I was jobless for 6 months but came back to CA as it was the best pay offer and best job and benefits. All large companies like this are the same, but this time of year, I feel a bit twitchy and feel like I am looking over my shoulder all the time. I have PTSD symptoms and have actually gone to a doctor about it. But all my friends at other large companies go through the same thing, whether they have been laid off once or several times. It's the nature of the "beast". When they are looking at making up a dollar value, it's going to happen.

You must not have worked for the same company that I do, the fact that ethics and best business practices are crammed down your throat at every level of the company is not just for show from what I could gather. I've been here over 5 years now and not witnessed anything similar to what you are referring to, I would imagine you must have been in an entirely different BU and location, that doesn't fly in Texas.
