We're definitely not having a September start and any hope of re entries and keeping students on the asr is dead in the water. . Recruitment seems to be out.

And this is what happens when students attend schools with national accreditation. Please people do you research and learn the difference between regional and national accreditation. I know I was victim of this until I found a legitimate school to attend.
Don't fall for the admissions reps line "Well, which do you believe is better national (implying larger) or regional" This is a common tactic that was used by the scumbags at schools like ITT and Westwood and Everest and... exactly. Oh and in case you guys weren't aware yet, did you know that your national college degree is not accepted at any CSU or most private Universities if you decide to pursue a higher degree such as a Master's? Shocking right that your admissions counselor didn't let you in on that one. I'm sure they said your an excellent candidate and that ITT would be lucky to have you. You would go onward and upward after ITT.
Find a regionally accredited school get your degree and get a job that easy. Don't fall for the B.S. Sorry everyone just saying the truth about these nationally accredited schools that no ones says on here!
If September classes will not start for us then why does our schedule show we are registered for September classes? And why would our nursing chair tell us to pick up our books? We need answers!
This is unfortunately a mirror image of April of 2015 with the collapse of Heald College (one of the Corinthian colleges). As noted in another post, here in California the State entity charged with overseeing organizations like ITT Tech has issued an emergency order and ITT Tech can no longer service new students. It is a sad situation and one that I'm thankfully not directly involved in. Yes, the quick filing of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy is a likely event. But it will be little more than a liquidating structure, designed to provide the corporation's creditors with an insignificant payout.
Supposedly we will have an answer either tomorrow or Thursday on what we are doing. None of us at the campus know if we are going to be able to teach out continuing students, but new starts and reentries are out for September.
So no Sept classes for currently enrolled students
I wish i could call my students to let them know we're not starting classes but i'm on paid leave until they whack me which could happen tomorrow.
Being a current student with breckinridge school of nursing with itt in Ohio
---speak with your nursing chair, since they are usually only barely affiliated with ITT (they typically come from another school or hospital & leave ITT in a year or so, after being fed up) , they can give a somewhat honest answer & maybe know some local options. Expect HQ to tell you how wonderful everything is.
ASR is the limit of a recruiter's caring. It shows students who've been packaged (FA) and if they start the recruiters hit their numbers. If not they hit the street.
Being a current student with breckinridge school of nursing with itt in Ohio. Your telling me school will not be available in Sept ( two week). PLEASE someone tell me whether this is true or not. Just want an honest answer
To answer your question, yes all bachelor starts are dead in the water. If there is a teach out for existing students it is only to the degree they are currently in, starting on the Bachelor is just likeep starting on associates.
I also don't know what asr is but if it's reenter, that also is no.
The problem with teach out is they would only do it at some campuses. The students run the risk that their student loans can't be forgiven, and the school degree is now way less valuable. The teach out I was involved with had comptia certs as the goal. So maybe they teach out nursing. But anything with just a degree, pretty low probably of happening.
"Sorry, not a rep"
ASR is Active Student Register...or something like that. Its essentially a roster of students who have applied to start school in the upcoming quarter start. Importantly, it tracks their progress through the financial aid process.
As far as the September 12th start...it's cancelled. As far was explained today, the impossible hurdle is the the $150 million that ITT has to cough up by next month. If they don't, the school is completely cut off from any Title IV funding (for all students). It makes no sense what-so-ever to start the quarter...knowing full well the financing isn't going to go through for the students.
This is what I heard that a DM told a CD today.
Sorry, not a rep. I'm in academics. So, what is an ASR? Why no re-entries? Doesn't the financial aid ban only apply to new students who have NEVER enrolled before -- thought I read that somewhere. What about students who want to start a bachelor program Sept 12? Are all bachelor programs scheduled to begin Sept 12 now dead in the water?
Midweek starts tomorrow, hopefully we will hear something soon from HQ. Its like a dead zone at my school.
