Ron Sargent doesn't give a sh-- about his employees. Staples has cut hundreds of jobs over the lard several years and the cuts keep on coming. I would start looking now for a new job if you are a current employee. No job is safe with Staples.

That's part of the problem. All Staples execs come off as arrogant a--holes.
You would think that the company falling so far from grace would give them some humility, but no. The failure is all because of retail, or international, or someone other than the C-level in Framingham.
Look at Sargent...he considered the buyout of OD so critical, yet did not even instruct the lawyer handling the case against the FTC to state Staple's side and just went along (or even suggest it) with her motion to rest. Absolute hubris.
LMAO! WB is expanding along the Great Lakes. My understanding from a few years ago, is Staples and WB were negotiating for an acquisition. Apparently, Neil R, who was heading up the negotiations, since it was all contract based business POed the executives at WB and they cut off the talks. WB made the decision to go after Staples by expanding their foot print. Karma baby!
The sweet, sweet smell of redemption. STAPLES lost a driver who cared and then lost another account.. Great story buddy..
After getting the boot from STAPLES and pondering what I should do next, not really wanting another deadend driving job, I decided to follow my heart and dream of being a medical professional.
Management heard of my vast and extensive experience with office supplies and products, so I was placed in charge of ordering all office supplies for my department. Of course a small change would have to be done, dropping STAPLES and going with W.B. Mason was soo gratifying. Once I informed the Ontrac delivery driver he was no longer going to deliver to me his face lit up with delight.
Over a year ago if a customer told me the exact same thing I would of been frightened that my job was in jeopardy and probably asked if it was my fault..
Well now you made your bed of nails STAPLES, sleep tight the nightmare you created is nearly over....
Absolutely agree, have seen them everywhere lately. A big medical complex across from a Staples I used to work in had Staples delivering to most of their offices when I was there. The Staples delivery truck would always be packed when the driver would occasionally drop off a dot com chair or item for customer pickup.
Staples killed the SDO in our area and went third party. I took a drive to a popular deli near my old store and ran into a nurse I knew. She said no one in the complex uses Staples ordering any longer and few shop at the store. The deliveries were undependable, broken or wrong items.
The bourbon tritip steak sandwich I ordered tasted even better after that, because Staples was vicariously paying for it via UI.
