Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

Bankruptcy appears inevitable.

What's next? Will they shut down and send students elsewhere? Will they teach out? Or will someone buy them out?

Kool aid. You really went to lengths to make your point and cite Wikipedia.

You get a B in composition 1.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source though. However your definition is correct.

"You love that word kool aid. What are you 12? Get a life dude. You and your 5th grade sound bites."

1) Can you count? You call it one word and show it as two.

2) Contextually correct use of a figure of speech.

3) 5th grade? More likely the work of somebody with a minimum of an undergraduate degree from a real college.

"Anyway, I am so glad I never have to set foot in my local temple, uh campus, again."

I could be persuaded to visit the local ITT Tech to teach one more class. I would teach the admin staff how to use their middle fingers at their next "show" meeting. ;)

If you really want to get creeped out, read the Wikipedia article about the events in Jonestown leading up to the drinking of the Kool Aid.

It pains me to say this, and I don't mean any disrespect to people who lost relatives at Jonestown, but the mind control going on at ITT-Tech has some not-so-subtle similarities with the "Peoples Temple."

Anyway, I am so glad I never have to set foot in my local temple, uh campus, again.

Perhaps it just happens to describe those who went along with Modan's Madness pretty well.

From Wikipedia:

"Drinking the Kool-Aid" is a figure of speech commonly used in North America that refers to any person or group who knowingly goes along with a doomed or dangerous idea because of peer pressure. The phrase oftentimes carries a negative connotation when applied to an individual or group. It can also be used ironically or humorously to refer to accepting an idea or changing a preference due to popularity, peer pressure, or persuasion.

Try this, it's probably more fun than wasting time thinking about ITT:

and see ,they tell you : "you know its pure and good, it has the parents magazine seal" , "nobody here but us monkeys"...reminds me of an ITT promotion

Zhang's plan to take over controlling interest. Fund DOE's requirement and stabilize financials. Expect a name change and curriculum change. This will be part of the bankruptcy agreement.

ITT is done...stop by a local campus today and see nobody is home. I was at one on Friday, the company told employees to stay home and there would be an announcement on Tuesday. It was weird, the campus unlocked, unoccupied, was like a scene from Omega Man (save for a couple of students still studying)...you could just wander around an empty campus. Very strange.

"The negative naysayers need not respond to this we have read your posts and we already know your stance on the situation."

And we all know that you are still drinking the Kool-Aid and lacking a sense of reality. It was, sadly, always so.

No one, Chinese or otherwise, can change the retention and placement numbers by December. ITT is so done you can't even put a fork in it.

Believe me that even if someone would buy ITT most of the current employees would be terminated within 90 days and most of the schools would be closed. Don't believe me, just look at what ECMC did to the Corinthian Colleges schools. The DOE will probably work with a company to try and buy out ITT to save the student loans the slowly wind it all down. No one has a future with ITT.

Chinese are going to buy what exactly? They need $150m for DOE.

Bankruptcy filing should come this week.

Finally something positive thank you I hope you're an Insider and I agree with you now is not the time to lose students.

This company and our school has lots of potential it must be saved somehow.

Not only for the students but also for the employees who have dedicated their lives to helping students achieve a better quality of life.

The negative naysayers need not respond to this we have read your posts and we already know your stance on the situation.

Now is the time to rise to the occasion and prove to ourselves and to our families that we can overcome this whether we remain open or not I wish everyone luck and believe in yourselves because you can always find better.

Apply apply apply. Push forward no matter what and sell yourselves on that interview.
