Food for thought. If Cabelas can not grow their business organically, they might have to merge or be bought out by BP to allow the company to stay open. Look at Sears. It is a dinosaur now. Does Cabelas want to be like that?

I couldn't agree more from the previous poster. There is nothing special about seeing Cabela's everywhere you go now. I thought it was meant to be a destination store and a unique experience? We moved and live near corporate and there isn't anything special going on in the Sidney store. I have lost interest once they've shrunk the bargain cave, and pretty much lost selection in the home and gifts department. Made me sad when the fudge shop was eliminated and relocated to deli. We even travel frequent to the new store in Thornton, Colorado and weren't even impressed. Almost everyone who work there makes you feel like you're in a forced environment when it comes to help and assistance. Went to the Wheeling, West Virginia store not too long ago and wished all stores could be like that model! There's a Cabela's Drive sign and even a bridge named after Jim and D--k Cabela. Mind you, in West Virginia! Greed indeed though.

Cabela's had a unique and good model before selling out to the dollar. Now its not any different than dollar general, Payless shoes or walmart. Nothing special here and BP will just try to morph a few locations but it will not fly. Cabela's is gone like the big buck or big fish in a campfire story. Sad but its an American Greed story.
