Anyone heard what to expect for the end of August? Anyone nervous?

Not for long.
So far it's quiet in Pittsburgh
Nervous, no if it happen's it happens. Since I have no control over it there is no reason to be nervous.
Every company is doing the same things, so no reason to jump to a new position till it happens or you just get sick and tired of it.
Isn't great that they are using ITAR-compliant, near-shore center in Puerto Rico and hiring but not from the US mainland. So that statement is saying layoff's on the mainland and replacing with lower cost , lower skilled , lower experienced workers from Puerto Rico
I've heard the same about remote positions. If it can be done from home, it can be done from India. Has anything come from the filing in Texas?
We lost a few contractors this week. No word on remote cuts, but rumors of more layoffs in Sept. are circulating. More of the same, sadly.
If it is 8/23 then what did occured (as in past) does anyone know?
If you meant 9/23 (September) then that is relatively consistent with past RIFs... scheduled on a Friday at the end of a pay cycle (anecdotal, no real evidence).
then "nervous" ... no, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to work and develop a plan for the future...
alcohol does help in a pinch... (<---- humour... dark kind, helps in times as these)
I've heard more rifs in iAction & iSolve...focused on acts supported out of Coppell..around 8/23
