Is the ops supe in charge of the IS? At my store it seems like my GM is soley in charge of my IS, and when I try to assign things to my IS, its either been assigned or the GM has planned his day out already. I thought the IS was supposed to be my assistant in OS and it was my responsiblity to go over priorities with the IS? Then my GM told me he doesnt work for me which I get because the supes don't have direct reports. Can anybody give me any insight on this?

Most I.S. know what has to be done and have a set routine for doing the Z.B. and research, cycle counts, returns, pull lists and splitting totes. Between helping customers and ringing register backup they usually are very tight on time. They are not meant to be an "assistant" to the Ops Sup.
In a perfect world, the 37-40 IS hours should not count toward office supplies alone, as they are also doing a large portion of Easy techs job by doing the CCs and parts of the ZB on the tech side. When I did the scheduling in my stores I reduced tech hours by 20 and added them to OS.
The G.m. is responsible for the whole store. You will get written up if the I.S. fails. Then fired that's the way it is. You must be new, sorry it's a foolish unproductive circle nighmate. And power struggle. Transfer out or find another job quick before it gets stressful, because if you think it's stressful now, it gets worse. And that is the truth.start looking now
the GM of of the OS said the IS is DOA so you're SOL.
