I'm sick of reading from adjuncts or sales staff about their current students. Go talk to some that graduated 5 years ago and ask them about nonstop nuisance calls, collectors, and demolished credit that means they will never own a house or get married. Ask them how many times they got laughed out of a job interview for pretending ITT was a real school. Ask them if they could do it all over again how many would trade your community college level degree for the 6 figures of debt that it will become?

Ah the Kool-Aid drinkers are spewing graduation rates from community colleges. They conveniently ignore the large percentage of CC students who transfer to four year schools.
First off, no one is getting laughed out of an interview for having an ITT degree. They would not have gotten the interview at all if the company did not respect ITT.
Secondly, ITT used to be a great school and is still respected in some IT circles. The problem is Kevin M and his people ran the school into the ground. Classes were being taught with outdated books. Instructors were underqualified and did not care about the students. And the company as a whole began to treat the employees like numbers which in turn led to the students being treated like numbers.
And lastly, any graduate of ITT Tech should have very little trouble finding employment as long as they have enough work experience under their belt. What I have come to see with some ITT students is that they lack adequate communication and presentation skills to get through difficult interviews. Their degrees get them in the door, but their inability to present themselves effectively is what keeps them out of work. We all know that ITT s---s but most employers still believe ITT is the real deal...for now.
The results speak for themselves. The greed and graft is over. No more welfare for Kevin.
have an ITT degree, 20 yrs of experience, never had problems finding work - after first 2 yrs into a career, people just want to see experience needed
I was there for many years & generally go along/support your position. Somewhere along the line HQ lost their focus & began to think only of increasing revenue, and damn whoever/whatever might get in the way. Far too many staff let go or steamrolled over in this quest. At least, at first ,most instructors did try to save the ship, but then even they were let go. Where is the ship headed now?
Cost has not raised in years and and key execs compensation has gone down precipitously... Especially since peak enrollment. Don't get me wrong I don't think they ran this company well at all and have ruined what once was a decent place for people who did not fit into main stream school. But you really should do your homework before posting crap. The majority of people do care for the students at the lower level but have had to deal with crap from HQ. You see a lot of complaints about making calls to students but many of them while annoyed sometimes appreciate being kept in the loop. Especially those with other obligations that keep them from being in class sometimes. The instructors I have encountered over the years have been dedicated to their students.most students are hard working and go above and beyond, while there are a few in every class that are a drag and likely shouldn't be there or anywhere for that matter. I've never heard anyone lie cheat or steal their way to sit a student... That's just crap to the Nth degree. Every student has a choice and was shown what the costs were. I've also seen many people leave and not come back when evaluating if the programs were worth the cost. The campus I am familiar with has excellent retention.. better than many other schools as well as outstanding placement. Oh and try comparing stats with your local community college ... Just a random pick... Savannah Tech has a first time student retention of 54% for full time and 45% for part time...need a better one? How about the SUNY run comm colls in New York let's try SUNY Duchess ... 63% full time and a whopping 37% for part time. You community college argument fails to pass muster as many of the students who have succeeded at ITT and even some whom have not chose it because they did not like or want the community college environment.
Thank you for posting that you are happy with your degree! Many of my students are also happy. They often come back to campus to visit and check in. Many have offered to come back to mentor or tutor. Some of my PMA/Drafters have expressed they would like to help mentor other upcoming drafters. They also let me know about job opportunities for existing students.
I'm happy with my degree.
In fact while i, worked there no student pair over the same, amount for any other college
--They must have kept you busy hanging up rep of the year posters everywhere so you wouldn't notice the cost being paid.
I think the ones b--ching have a right 7 years ago, but the ones the past 3 years paid way less than you did. In fact while i,worked there no student pair over the same, amount for any other college. As for the job, that is on you if hundred lazy and didn't do anything with the degree that's your fault. Not the schools...
People can say anything under anonymous. Maybe it's just a good way to vent the pain, disappointment, and confusion - for all of those involved with ITT (those involved in fantastic, good way; and those involved in a negative way).
Some were actually fed the line that they could get a good, respected education. Some really worked hard and got an education. Please dont assume everyone was there for a free ride, whi h they most certainly did not get.
"Ask them how many times they got laughed out of a job interview for pretending ITT was a real school"
I can wholeheartedly empathize with you. But the statement above has always been bogus to me. Employers look at resumes before they call a student or graduate in for an interview. I don't think they would waste THEIR time for an interview if they see you graduated from ITT Tech.
Are you sick, really?
1) Stay away from here then, that simple!
2) We don't know who are you, or what role do you play in this equation, conclusion:
a) a disgruntled employee who never did ANYTHING RIGHT for his/her students to change their lives.
b) a lazy bum student who was collecting welfare without attending school the way it is supposed to be
c) DO NOT make a broad statement because you don't know all ITT employees!
Most should have stayed home and collected welfare and food stamps because that's all they were ever going to do anyway. It wouldn't have mattered if they went to a community college or not, most don't possess anything close to a work ethic that could land them a job.
