"As far as I'm concerned anybody who worked at ITT the last 10 years is no better than a common thief or rapist, they knowingly saddled people with life crushing debts and didn't care in the least bit."
Well that position is extreme and hard to justify with facts. Many teachers joined ITT Tech over the past 10 years with the intention to teach eager students well. The reality came as a shock for many particularly in the past 5 years. That is why the adjunct turnover was so high - teachers constantly leaving because they didn't like what they saw. Even if a good teacher wanted to leave some students might actively ask them to stay and relate horror stories of other classes - hard choice - serve the students you know or leave to make the bigger point.
Are there vultures in ITT Tech? There certainly are in Carmel. Are there gullible people on the administrative side who believed what they were told? Yes. So many in fact that the pre-hire screening questionnaire may have been scoring them high!
Well someone was paying the high price for their greed and it was students who were dumb enough to trust the lies they were told about a better life. As far as I'm concerned anybody who worked at ITT the last 10 years is no better than a common thief or rapist, they knowingly saddled people with life crushing debts and didn't care in the least bit.
With a multibillion dollar source of govt money avail , ITT HQ slowly justified more and more ridiculous standards, until it literally became a free-for-all enrollment frenzy. After a while it became apparent ITT didn't even need their full-time faculty--the money would jut magically keep flowing in. Hell, ITT could even prop up nationwide programs like "game design" (remember that one) where there were barely any jobs--and the money kept on coming. The fact there were no game design jobs for students became irrelevant.
