Thread regarding Huron Consulting Group Inc. layoffs

Healthcare practice - are others stagnating as well?

Hurton's pipeline is as flat as pancake, at least in healthcare it is. Does anyone know for how our competitors are doing in the healthcare practice? Are their pipelines growing or stagnating? Anyone knows how is Advisory Board, Prism or any other firm doing?

you saw the stock after the earnings release. the Analysts couldn't believe the BS that Jim was giving them. Show me the money! now it's all promises as they scale back every solution group. analysts, associates and managers are just go-fers for the MD's that need to make their quotas. Everyone from MD's on up know whats going on but they are sworn to secrecy as they keep heir fingeers crossed that a s---er client signs a long term (> 3 month) contingency engagement. Party's over, Now I hear people are waiting to collect unemployment and get laid off. my advice is to walk out with your head held high and use your skills at a firm where you're appreciated ASAP.

As a scam, our HR posts / refreshes a bunch of healthcare jobs on Linkedin and other job boards! Our recruiters keep calling unsolicited employees of other firms and waste their as well as some of our staff time in bogus interviews. This is just to show to the outside world or some unsuspecting candidates that everything is fine with Huron!

other firms are doing well , in fact hiring is occurring at smaller firms in addition to Deloittes in HealthCare. When health administrators /c suite ask "what makes you different from the Huron type firms?" it's quality, service, relationship building (vs one shot quarterly boost) and pricing. I was told by an MD that Huron just will move to another prospect as proposals aren't accepted and/or existing client ends the relationship. Trinity is one health system that was "sold" over 2 years ago and everyone got excited over the assessment. They haven't purchased the engagement and the buildup of staff in anticipation of a signature has met with layoffs and more people sitting on the bench (waiting for the next round). hang in there people, unemployment is not bad! It's going to happen.
