Great points and to think that the calls highlight is further cost reductions - that means us with short term price cuts to basically break even. This is from bad to worse

How can you not love that impacts of our strategic discounting cancelled out and exceeded the savings we were supposed to get from the strategic head cuts. Of course we would stack together two strategies that resulted in less profit, quarter for quarter. That's great business strategy. They'll write books about it, someday.

Don't worry, tho. We'll make it up in all the new customers and markets share we are getting. All those people who can't find anyone to help them in a store because we cut to many and all those empty pegs are really winning them over. We are the talk of the whole retail industry. Everyone wants to be just like us. That's why we spent so much time on improving the golden parachute clauses for company leaders in Q2 instead of working on driving revenue up. We are just that good. The Chuck Norris of the outdoor industry - we are invincible.

Don't worry if your house is worth less. Amazing things are coming. Other big retailers and businesses are going to offer us great jobs, because they will know if we come from the green roof, we know our stuff. We are the experts at what we do. That is why our company is doing so amazing. We should hold training for other companies because we are so awesome.

And just in case if Bass Pro or some body else does come in, they will keep things just like they are today. They will love all the different ways of doing retail and shipping and merchandising stuff. It will be easy to manage two manage two corporate offices when the Sidney one is so welcoming and really good about changing stuff. It will be an asset to keep us all and keep handling things the same way. That way they can be the industry leader. Because we are so good that they will need to do things the way WE do them.

There were only two piles of crap broadcast on Thursday, July 28. The DNC and our investor call.

Leadership delivering the spin on the E call today. Quarterly report shares to good news and avoids the bad news - We learned that It takes time to build parachutes. CEO Sincerely thanked all the employees- They can feel special one more time just before they get walking papers. Outfitters are not engaged. just hanging on.

"Cabela's is in the early stages of expense management" - Sounds like more layoffs and outsourcing jobs. With No more focus on the customer experience and Employee moral and training. Customers will likely be outsourcing themselves soon. Focus now seems to be only on profit. The COST of change is the long term impact of the Price - PRICE of change is what they are selling now with layoffs and focus on profit to the exclusion of employees and Customers.

"CAB made a Purposeful decision... to improve profits... driving value to customers?" - Yada Yada Yada. Pricing improvements on a few items in a massive assortment is so 1980's. Now its called purposeful decisions. "Benchmarking work begun in 2015 is leading to work converting into leverage and we are still early in it" A lot of double talk. With all the opportunities stated by CAB mgt they are trying to boil the ocean. Cost savings they are generating is driving improvements. Much of the cost savings are one time savings - Not perpetual or systematic to reap ongoing benefits.

Credit card doing well but customers are nervous about it remaining. Anecdotally Some are burning through their points to be sure they do not lose out if a sale occurs. cardholders cashing in their long saved points could be pumping the sales numbers.

Cabela's Branded Items - . Talk about penetration because that's the positive. The question they dodged was What company can sell a private brand at a lower profit than national brands and make a money?

What about Shareholder meeting? No news on the potential Sale? Same as retail strategy - Wait and see.
