Thread regarding VMware Inc. layoffs

This site has gotten full of absolute crap...

This site used to be reliable. In uncertain times it provided true answers and accurate information.

Unfortunately this has turned into a pissing ground for either disgruntled employees or competition.

-VMware has had its tough times. However Q2 has again beat expectations

-All the talks about 500 being let go here and 500 there, thats crap. Since January there have not been bulk layoffs.

-Are developers being outsourced? Probably. Where is this NOT happening? Blame Obama for making this OK as well as the ease of bringing in talent at half the price on an H1B1

-vSphere is probably shrinking as expected but NSX, vSAN, and vRealize continue to grow.

Dying for someone to share some actual facts.

Most of the NSX and vCA support teams were laid off and all the workstation dev team in the US were laid off, the Burlington Canada office was closed, about 800 people total.

VMware hasn't had any "tough times." They did it to boost the stock which had fallen from the $90-100 range to $35 over the Dell shenanigans. That and a 1.2 billion buy back brought it back to the $50-60 range, which would have happened any way.

It was a typically stupid short sighted business move for a short term stock gain at the price of a lot of irreplaceable long term talent and at the ground floor they know this and pretty much immediately hired every one they could back.

But any company the regularly exceeds expectations and has $10B in the bank; isn't having "tough times."

There have been mass layoff's this year. Just because you don't hear about them doesn't mean that people weren't laid off. I know a lot of folks that have been laid off this year. ISR's out of Austin the while support team out of Burlington Canada and some AE's SE's in the US & let's not forget 755 of the vCloud air team.

Nicira an independent company? Are you daft? Nicira was integrated years ago. And VSAN is kicking the sh*t out of Nutanix, the point is to offer their (Dell) customers a choice. And that's fine, because VMware can run on HP, Cisco, etc. Go back to your cave, troll.

The cool-aid. Even now your parent company is selling Nutanix, the vSAN killer - cause it has not faith in vSAN. NSX and vRA - Try selling them without bundling them. Niciria - why is it an independent company - So that sales do not have to be public. Just enjoy will you can at VMware. And try to learn something useful so that when you are looking its easier

Stop bringing your asinine politics into this. Policies were in place before 8 years ago that made this possible.
