Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I think a lot of people still don't realize that layoffs don't necessarily mean net headcount reduction.

Plenty of times, HPE simply transfer roles to Countries with lower cost structures to save tons of money. Add to that ridiculous international tax loopholes, and you have the perfect recipe for jobs to go abroad. I won't vote for DT, because I don't agree with his views on a lot of things, but I have to give him the need to put the right policies in place to bring jobs back to the US. I have nothing against our peers in lower cost Countries, but the reality is that more controls are really past overdue.

The Indian currency [rupee] is artificially very low against the US dollar (~50%), but no one is doing anything about that...

Take away unfair tax loopholes advantages, and a lot of jobs will come back to the US. It's time to put more controls in place to protect our National jobs. DT 2016

Can we talk contractors lining up!! Think about it they get rid of the head count and 35% to 45% of costs associated with each one that is laid off...

I think everyone realized this, even HPE can't cut 90,000 people and expect to be able to function. At least some of the jobs have to be moved overseas.
