Hearing chatter from Intel sources that the Alameda campus will be shutdown in 2017 as most key technical / mgmt talent have left and/or 'new blood' there in past 5 yrs has been laid off. Not much use for a 30 yr old legacy piece of technology and IoT business that no one is interested in.

Every other place closing? Wow! We are going to lose some talented people and resources.

I'd never say something like that. I learned my lesson in June when I said we wouldn't be affected by layoffs. We were, and I've felt bad about that post since. I can't figure this place out any more.
I don't see that. It's a pretty valuable piece of real estate in a good location. I see it being re-tasked, maybe an R&D center, think tank, or sales office. Definitely not shuttered, though.
