3sbx - laying off more experienced /higher paid individuals may be tough for students, but it makes short term financial sense.

If there was a methodology to the layoff then yes it was legal, but how do you justify only keeping a certain group most with less tenure or experience the fact is they had no set process and retained people with the same titles without notifying anyone of these new positions. we are not ignorant people the loopholes are being researched at and that document signed will be invalid.

Out of 45 people RIFFed 80% were over the age of 40. That's age discrimination!

The layoffs are all based on gender, race, age lol. But if you want that added "severance" pay, you sign a waiver stating you won't sue them.

How were people "wrongfully laid off"? Most - if not all - employees are at-will. They can be let go at any tine, for any reason - or no reason. As Iong as layoffs were not based on race, gender, age, etc. they are legal.
