Is there anyone reading this blog that thinks that this is the last lay off Micron will ever have? If you have made this cut, Seriously, start preparing for the next one. With a very small exception, Micron wants its operations in Asia. If you are a U.S. worker your days are numbered no matter how you look at it. Not much satisfaction in knowing that.

Open door policy in our area means come to us with a concern or problem and you will be" b--ch slapped" because we do not have the ability to handle personnel issues even though it is part of our job as a supervisor or manager. Who is going to hold us responsible?...........That's what I thought!
Yes indeed and let's not forget the open door policy ... until there is an issue. Total BS
Way too many Chiefs; not enough Indians
Sometimes don't you wonder if the inmates are running the asylum?
They could save more money if they ax half of the management. They make twice as much and don't do any work to produce any product or revenue.
Product/program cancellations are a tradition of long standing at Micron, especially when said product/program almost makes it to the prototype stage. ... never did see how that lines up with strategy for generating sales. But the wizards in Boise Bldg 17 keep doing it, all the time wondering why it doesn't stop the elephant crap that keeps showing up all over the place.
Let's see, cancel the one internal program in the highest volume, highest margin business that you have because it misses some of "the window". Then outsource that swim lane to another company that then makes an inferior product that no one wants, causing yet another cancelation. After that, buy a company against the warnings of the due diligence team , and when that purchase starts looking really bad, take the initial team that spent the last year fixing that ASIC and lay them off, because, you know, we have to cover the execs rearends. All of this, and no VP loses a job, they're just too hard to replace, unlike all the engineers they just axed, hahahahaha. It's taking on water folks, start getting to the life rafts before its too late.
