What ever choices FMC makes pertaining to the current and future market they will be wrong as they have never displayed any ability in any area to be a problem solver. The Gears Road facility is a monument to incompetence at every level.

HR and Finance are not moving "across the pond" completely. There are portions of both groups moving to the UK as part of GBS but not all. That makes no sense to do that. THINK PEOPLE...come on!

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around how Paris, France can be cheaper to operate in than Houston, Texas.
HR and finance definitely moving across the pond. I think it's already started. I heard the plan was to domicile outside the US, but not sure what city.
I was told the company was being diced into 5 parts with 3 portions of it going to Paris from Houston as a cost savings. Paris it seems is much cheaper than Houston. Service and manufacturing were to stay here from what I was told and the accounting, HQ and project management would be out of Paris.
I think eventually these decisions will negatively impact customers and they will go with another vendor. Especially with all the quality issues emerging, then this?
The reason for moving the headquarters to France is because of lower taxes.
I was told a few months back that FMC 'merica is an afterthought, and that the future plans are to move HQ to France or somewhere in EU-at the time I laughed and said they'd never do that! It seems more likely as I read these posts😞-and wait for my own inevitable pink slip!
What happened to a once great company?! I understand oil and gas are a bust right now, but this sure seems worse than previous busts that were much more dark than this one!

this is only the first wave, once they figure out how to give the illusion that with the reduced workforce that all is well, the second and third wave of cuts will happen
I was laid off...however there are also a lot of good people getting to keep their jobs. If you are one of the lucky or unlucky? Ones that gets to stay make the most of it as in three months it will probably be happening again...
