Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

BRCM had a big problem before it was sold. It was characterized by cronyism and shredding of responsibilities, resulted from allowing unit management to hire their cronies in, and taking credits from those who actually did the job. This created an exodus of competent people and unwarranted firing those who dared to be vocal to point out the ills.

It was loosing $2M/day before shutting down of its mobile wireless division. Its place in the market for combo chip (wifi, nfc, ble) was edged out competitions. In short, it cannot develop any new products, similar to one of the leading network behemoths on the market. This boils down to one scenario: It has in its employ too many dead woods, meritocracy fails to work to give credits to those who are competent and productive.

Not many companies are doing well; unlike Broadcom. Now it looks more stable than any other company. Majority of cuts behind us. So stay put and be happy !!!

Brcm is not an atractive place to work anymore!!! Move on to other companies with better corporate cultures!!!
