After reading how that guy posted he didn't know who von Mises was in response to that entertaining tirade below I switched from beer the other night to some really good stuff called Kettle One vodka and ice. I'm staying home tomorrow and probably having a few shots of tequila with breakfast omelets my vieja is going to make. Then make the scheduled call with my financial advisor, move some things around, buy a few more things. Its a free country I can drink what I want when I want and put my money where I want, I can even say what I want where I want. I just bought the stock for decades. So you can save your door speech for someone who walks in and out of it, or go practice that speech in front of a mirror and put it on youtube. C---y? Maybe, SOB? Definitely, inferiority complex? Do these hands look small to you? Look at these hands. No you guessed that one wrong. You hit 2 out of 3 and thats good.
I should be free for an hour or two before lunch, then maybe do some fishing, or lay in my hammock and even out this sunburn. Have a light lunch and walk the waters edge. Have a beer or two with my amigos and check my online business activity. Then watch a little Telly and munch on some pretzels while I have a pure sugar coke, take a nap and wake up and change for dinner. Depending on when I wake up I might go for a swim or not. Have a cold domestic beer with dinner or two and then watch some football and do some reading and net surfing. Smoke a cigarette, hell I don't know.
Thats my plans for tomorrow, what are yours? Lug a laptop around? Go to meetings and check your e-mail? Shout at people on the internet? Lay off the coffee and have a beer or a few shots at night. You might need a vieja and a smoke.
You [@Ig0jEyu-5jau] sound like a c---y SOB with an inferiority complex. "I'm going to have some beer and look at other companies to invest in" MY ass You prolly live paycheck to paycheck just like the rest of us, so shut the hell up. Quit trying to sound like you're so smart you should be running FMC. Sit down, shut up and if you don't like FMC, there's the door. BYE.
Yeah must be on the board of directors or probably one of managers educated at one of the military academies where they teach Keynsian economic theory alone and omit Locke, Malthus and Mises. How did our people get so f---ing dumbed down?
I don't have anything to say, I'm floored at what I just read and the posters lack of ability to figure it out.
I'm going to have some beer and look at other companies to invest in. Speechless, f---ing speechless.
Hey Buddy, Heard of Google?
You must be on the Board of Directors!
What is the Von Mises academy?
I guess the people we don't really know who have never spent a night on a rig conducting operations were looking out for us. Must be like Hillary, yeah just poorly managed, didn't really understand it, no ill intent.
Hope there is enough recovery to get out from under this massive loss I took under these graduates of the Von Mises academy's watch. Board of directors really needs to wake the f--- up and make some changes and I'm not speaking of shipping and receiving either.
Too late Buddy, there will be NO RECOVERY!!!
I'm going to not invest anymore money in FMC. Then first recovery dump their stock and move my investments.
Yep FMC management and the GE messiah just sh-- on shareholders. Bet they took care of themselves though.
Check out after hrs trading FMC stock just took a dump!!!!
Once again, why the name calling and personal attacks on people that U don't even know? I've been here for a long time and am still happy. If U aren't, go somewhere else. Seriously. No one is holding U hostage at FMC. Quit bringing the rest of us down who want to stay and still see the good in this company. It's not for everyone but no company is.
And for those of you who think threads like this on this page are unique to only FMC, go and check out some of our competitor pages. Unhappy people like those of you who are hating on FMC exist at all companies. Go read the pages and threads for Cameron, NOV, Schlumberger, Dril-Quip, Halliburton...all of them. People are saying the exact same garbage that most of you are about management and HR who are somehow out to get you and how you're all the victims in this unprecedented downturn for oil & gas.
I genuinely wish all of you happiness, but please change the tone on this forum to something more productive than personal attacks and name calling. It makes you look pathetic.
been here over 20 years working hard, why don't the clowns that been here less than 2 years who cant even wipe their own rear leave to a job they can handle
I'm sorry...is someone holding you hostage at FMC? How can it, "not be a choice to get out or not with the way FMC is managed and who is managing it."
That makes no sense. If you're really that unhappy...leave.
I don't think it's a choice to get out or not with the way FMC is managed and who is managing it.
To the poster who said: "People act as if FMC has other business besides O&G. What did everyone expect would happen when oil tanked and shows no signs of coming back up. Everyone blames management but truth is the writing was on the wall 2 years ago."
Freaking AMENNNNNNNNNN! I wish there was a way to send you a beer through this site.
People if you don't like FMC get the heck out. Despite what some believe, it is possible to find another job in this town. Quit making personal attacks on here about people U basically know nothing about. U hear a few soundbites over the years and now all of a sudden think you're the ultimate authority on everything FMC. Those people are human beings just like U are. In case you haven't noticed there's a lot of hate in the world right now without people like U saying the first nitwit thing that pops into your head. Move along...
The company was good, but if you read some of the older post on this site, the common denominator is that the FMC management team did not respect the dignity of its employees, long timers with much experience and dedication were just walked out the door by security. Subjects like Quality, safety and customer satisfaction were just company slogans, performance appraisals were not merit based and nepotism was rampant thru out the entire operation. That is what disgusts all the dedicated workers whom believed the B.S. and are either voluntarily gone or abruptly dumped with the butt kissers and select management kept. This site started getting lots of activity about half a year ago and it has been the same observation since. let the MBA candidates direct the business and the heck with all those whom had the experince and best interest of keeping their careers alive and growing. I remember the HR core value hire the best, train the best and retain the best. Most of the core values were just slogans when times got rough, that not a company with integrity.
People act as if FMC has other business besides O&G. What did everyone expect would happen when oil tanked and shows no signs of coming back up. Everyone blames management but truth is the writing was on the wall 2 years ago. You had plenty of time to abandon ship on your own. I did and am better off now because of it.
It a lie there is no life after FMC. When God created the earth he subcontracted the whole event to FMC. Without FMC there would be no sun or water, or even babies.
Dude STFU, there is life before and after FMC. You ever work with former FMC people who are the customer? Read down the man nailed it, lots of people start at FMC and move on and up. The word is FMC is the oilfields training company.
I think some people post here because they are afraid of getting let go and others because they are pissed they got let go and the crooks are still there stealing the company blind or riding the coat tails of others. Some are probably former FMC people who left and just took a peak and decided to be nice and tell people they will be ok afterwards no matter what.
I clicked on here just looking at different companies and how they handle their benefit packages and saw FMC and clicked on it. Looks like nothing's changed and glad I left considering the names I read as people still being there. I'll be clicking on Cameron next to see what's what there on their status. If you are drinking FMCS koolaide you are a nube or just a poor brain dead bastard. Be a leader and not such a follower. Oh man I just realized I'm probably arguing with Chip. I'm going to go argue with a wall instead. Peace and chicken grease.
If there is life after FMC, then why are you still concerned with this website?
It is a terribly managed company to say the least!!! Don't be ashamed and harm yourself mentally and physically by continuing to work there, get another job!!!! THERE IS LIFE AFTER FMC, I KNOW, I LEFT VOLUNTARILY SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND FOUND A MUCH BETTER JOB!!!!!!
FMC used to to a great place to work. I used to be so proud when I told people who I worked for, but now I am ashamed to say that I work for FMC!
They will go as far as Technip can cover. They aren't in this to run a business they are in this to get everything they can and then they will simple jump off this dead dog like ticks and jump on another and suck it dry. It's what they do. Sadly the people at the very top are just like them and they all believe they are really leading the way.
You are right they won't be competitive without dirty deals in the future. They were falling even when oil was high. They are idiots, when it picks up leave their asses hanging like they are doing you.
Go through their social media and do not hire their friends or family members either.
These people are looters.
I'm just wondering how far they are going with the layoffs. They laying off so many people that this company will not be competitive when the market recoups.
Memo went out Friday - more layoffs coming! Which is no surprise, it said in smaller increments, but like someone said "just rip off the bandaid and get it over with. No one can even concentrate on doing their job.. If they would hit Corporate or Global , itt could save hundreds of jobs. Start at the Top, that's where all the fat is at. Just get rid of five or six of them and save the jobs of the actual worker.
These men were career over country military officers and bonus over customer and people in industry and it doesn't take an MBA from pay to play Wharton to figure that out. The oil and gas industry was made with hard work, getting the job done for the customer no matter what and our customers took care of us in return. These guys just see a project and to them it's shakedown time. You read that piece in the hugfington post with FMC mentioned? If those charges are true no wonder the rats (more senior ones) are selling out to Technip and making their exit plans.
Yeah if you e work at the company for more than 15 years I've worked with you and we probably had a smoke together for sure. I'm not mentioning the good people left for fear of retaliation on them. FMC still has some good people but they are isolated.
You know maybe at some point things will change. Maybe the frauds and there are more than I mentioned will get found out released as well. If Huffington is correct then some could go to jail.
Reading here did you see the tax post someone made? Must have been a TSP. I've got a feeling the doors going to bust wide open and you'll see some refunds and indictments. Lots of people let go are now talking. No one is holding back. I had someone talk to me about being ordered to short TSP and shop guys pay because a manager didn't like the person.
I know exactly who you are. But will not tell because you speak the truth. And it needs to be heard. FMC has been good to me and I know that it is just a matter of time and they are going to get me. They aren't too smart because they want to get rid of everyone that knows more than them and they don't have a clue.
You remember Peter? Then you remember the days when FMC actually knew what it was doing. You are exactly right. Needed a part to get a customer back online and making money you took it and got the job done and it was settled later.
Remember the bolt bins? How many jobs now are held up over a GD fastener? So some dimwit in QA can look at it and release it. We used to have everyone up to speed to know what fastener was and for what equipment. This was one example of the Gremp change.
Yeah I can't tell you what my position is or was obviously, but I'm sure everyone knows me. I have been around a long time. To me I am just seeing the company gets stripped down like a car in a junkyard for parts and sold for the benefit of a very small few and we have a great product and the people running the business are ruining the business despite this.
Again any 5 year field engineer Could do their jobs at FMC. Any 7-10 year tech service or shop could do their jobs. And right you wouldn't know you had technical degreed or STEM folks in the shops and in service because no one talks to those wretched dirty people who sweat and stink. There is no career path for most of us. We are just a tool for them to toss in the bin when it's convenient.
They act as gate keepers in that little mafia to ensure the company works for them, they don't work for the company or us and they have HR aimed like a weapon or an attack dog to unleash on anyone who doesn't play their games. This is why in public I parrot their slogans, sign their compliance pacts, attend their idiotic meetings while personally inside have absolutely no respect for them.
I'm not alone. The damage they have done and think they are hiding is a comical tragedy. How many 3rd party guys have ever pulled you aside and told you plenty times what I said here today. Usually at night in the bay the conversation comes up or out on a job. Client is often ex FMC and will just start putting the truth and light on a situation like we are talking about here and what can you say? No, you are a liar, these people are visionaries of oil and gas equipment? No you can't. Honestly they couldn't have even ran FMC when it was freeze drying peas or making pipe misters for orange groves.
Yet in their minds they are gangsters and leaders showing everyone how it's done. They are embarrassing and that's why I'm headed out. I have seen good engineers let go, or just leave, same with techs and our shop guys who are the spirit of this company. Look at our offshore tsps some are legends. Yet they never advance past coordinator. Why? Well I'm done with asking that question.
The won't answer it anyway. Yep Kinnear knew how oil and gas worked and you know he could build a gate valve and run the pump. He knew is and we knew him and we loved him. He loved us too. He knew our names and would come out to SIT in the hot sun and say hello.
When was the last time you saw the gang of dumbasses they have now do that? I haven't but maybe I e just missed their appearances. Usually they summon and have you let go. It's just a system that serves them. Don't believe me ask the customer if they feel like they are getting their money's worth?
Love reading your posts! You tell it like it is! If you are not a manager, you should be. The problem at FMC is that "The Buddy system" makes their friends Managers and we have absolutely no Leadership, because they know "nothing", and you are so right about all the shop hands that they look down on them and don't even know that they have degrees but they love what they do! Kinnear was a leader. He WORKED his way up and is very humble. He would walk thru the shop and stop and talk to all the shop hands and could actually carry on a conversation with them because he knew what they were actually doing.
Thank you. I know what I'm talking about and I've been around a long time. Look at the model, you have service techs and engineers and shop hands. A few shop and service guys are degreed and very intelligent. Why are people like those mentioned and those like them over these guys 10 years later?
If FMC would end the model of hiring engineers, service techs and shop hands and forcing them out after 5 years or putting them in a corner in a cube and actually put them in decision making positions and upper management positions and even VP positions could you imagine what could be done.
What this little gang of military officers has done is taken over the company where things bottleneck and like a cork block any ideas or people from getting past them. It's obvious and honestly it's really a legal case that could and should grow legs. It's cronyism at its best and imagine what kind of conflicts of interests they probably have been involved in, ethics violations and who knows what else when they are all in this quid pro quo cartel.
I've seen these guys drag in their buddies from the service as PMs who have totally nearly destroyed projects they move at the last minute and then put an old FMC hand on. Then hang all the issues on that person who rights the project. It's been like that for a fact since around mid 07.
Really ask yourself why damned good engineers were let go? Or moved into positions they cannot influence company decisions. Yet people with no oil and gas experience hold the company by the throat squeezing the oxygen out of it. How does this promote any growth, diversity or inclusiveness on any level be it professional or otherwise? How is this good for the company? If it isn't good for the company then how is it good for business and how can that attract investment?
I'm pulling anchor pretty soon. But it's sad to see all the talent I mentioned go to other companies, competitors and succeed and even go to operators knowing how rediculous the whole place is at the top and you know they talk, hell they call us out when they come back.
That's why I'm about done and planning my exit. I don't see a future here and I plan on moving my investments too. The new CEO is on par and maybe worse than Gremp.
I've been all over this company and I can tell you there was nothing wrong with the company it is the people running it that is the problem.
Very well written! You hit the nail on the head! They are laying off the wrong people. They are laying off all the people that actually worked and know the business. All of these West Point grads know nothing about the business and just wants to run the Military network to get the Texans tickets and knows nothing about the oil business. Booth and Brandi don"t know nothing about being a "Manager". They abuse the system and nobody respects them. Respect is earned and they are not respected!
Pferdehirt is no better and Gremp the wall street pimp is still chairman milking away until next year so go suck a smashed dick. FMC was a cash cow went Gremp arrived and the idiot along with morons like West Points finest Tim Booth, and English major Sarner (Haven't seen him in a while) Chip " Maverick" Webb, Mathews and many others whose understanding of oil and gas is only excel and projects software deep couldn't calculate well shut in pressure, couldn't talk you through a basic completions, couldn't explain a well program or the operational running of drilling tools, couldn't drive a fork truck, organize a shipment or hook up an air hose. They got their jobs through hookups and playing the game networking and having their friends remove their competition. They don't know anything about the equipment or customers needs. They are just hustlers and opportunists pinching pennies at the cost of customer success. Then lying through their teeth saying their cost saving measures save the customer money. Show me your invoices today for the same work you did last year and show me the cost savings because I don't see it and customers point it out all the time. Eventually you can't hold their water anymore. Those of us who face the customer don't even try to hold the facad anymore. We just say we are sorry.
Those mentioned above were totally ineffective and operated like bullies. I can remember clients after interactions with them Shaking their heads saying what a waste of time they were. They'd say they knew the operations guys would make it work and they weren't worried but what a waste of time it was talking to the gaggle of middle managers. I know no one in operations or the shops respect these people. They may fear them but don't respect them.
Now with the GE leadership at the helm FMC is going to get it from both ends. Technip and The GE wonder will take what's left of the company down. The government ad to bail out GE under the present CEOs watch, maybe that's the plan? Go look at GE oil and gas today, ask some of the former FMC guys who went over there how great it is. I'm sure most of our numbers are up, has to be with how things are going. I mean look at Generation Park, what was spent on this place? Then just to let people go? It's empty more and more every month it seems. Yeah what visionaries.
Reading people here calling those let go deadwood and worthless is sad. Most of the people let go past 14 were good people. They didn't fail FMC, their leaders who milk the company dry for their own personal gain failed them, failed us and in the end fail the shareholders. You know it deep down. FMC was on the road to ruin long before the downturn when these conspirators started destroying and running off all the talent. It was brain drain 101. I'm sad to say that eventually a competitor will rise up out of this mess and we will be just a has been.
Doesn't make him any less of an idiot
You do know gremp isn't our CEO anymore right?
Heaton is a short stupid ass What's he done in oil and gas, did he ever work in surface or subsea service? The guy is a dumbass, and couldn't tell you the torque spec on 4-1/2" drill pipe. He couldn't run a pump and Booth is the same, I remember when booth started, he couldn't manage a blm protest much less FMC.
Gremp is a f---ing idiot with short vision and incompetent. He's drained the company of talent, but he likes squeezing women's breasts I hear.
This is what happens when you give someone a "managers" job like the Booth or the others. Fmc has created monsters by giving them the title of manager and it goes straight to their heads. They take advantage of that title and abuse it so much that HR just looks the other way. They don't care about FMC or the business, all they want is to see how far they can get ahead and act so superior. Years ago we actually had working managers. Sad to see!
I worked in s01, received the blue folder. Honestly that place was becoming a miserable place to work with the terrible management in place and sh--ty HR. Core Values is laughable, especially when you have a guy in a position of power despite the fact that he sexually harasses most of the women and has previously been reported for it.
Well said, Lucas.
I was let go today and you guys are just dumb. You really think Chuck Heaton and Tim Booth are the reason I lost my job? What do either of them have to gain by me not being there anymore? Anyone checked the price of oil lately? If you didn't see this coming, you're pretty ignorant. Stop blaming others. Deal with reality. Most of you sound like a bunch of washed up good 'ol boys in oil & gas. Hope you're the next recipient of the coveted "blue folder" b/c FMC will be better off without ya. And what do you think anyone is "covering up?" You're all a bunch of amateur conspiracy theorists. smh
I heard tomorrow layoffs will only be at gears however no layoffs occured in s01 (that I know of). Does anyone know where layoffs will be directed tomorrow?
The booth was summoned!
Chuck Heaton is a smug LITTLE BASTARD who needs his asskicked!!!
