Dealt with so much BS at McKesson, I lost track of how great everywhere else was. Found a new job in so little time that I almost didn't get a day off, because even though my performance at McK was apparently terrible (Seemed to coincide when the company was doing poorly. Imagine that.) I was quite marketable. My horrifically uninformed boss is gone. No more knee-jerk reaction meetings for nonsense. No more meetings for the sake of meetings. No more having to dumb down technical concepts to the 9th grade level so my manager could still misunderstand them. No more trying to make the cheapest solution work for the sake of shortsighted management. No more "that's the process" nonsense. Best of all, no more terrified employees working miserable hours of boring busy work so they can be the ones that aren't laid off. It's like a hot dog eating contest where first prize is free hot dogs.
If I had known they were going to screw me on my bonus, I would have done this months ago. Thankfully, they flubbed so much of the layoff process that I'll spend the next year capitalizing off the legal methods of scraping that bonus back. Unpaid overtime. Misclassification as exempt. WARN notice violation. Final pay violations. Even if I don't get a cent, it's thousands I'm costing them with minutes of my time. I encourage everyone to do the same. It's really quite simple to do.
Hurry up and move to Texas already, McKesson. It's where you belong. You don't deserve California.
