Start to "sweat" when you get the hook? If you didn't start looking for a job 4 months ago, you are screwed!!!! The writing has been on the wall for months, some just want to ignore it and hope to get "lucky"! No such thing as luck!! I left over 4 months ago and got a FANTASTIC, BETTER PAYING JOB ELSEWHERE, the whole time our managers were feeding us BS about big money and secure jobs at Gen Park!! See how that turned out right. I have compassion for people who have roots in the area and don't want to move, but open your eyes as things are getting very dire at FMC!!! Proverbs 3:5,6

God Bless You All!!!

It can't be an HSE meeting, all of the safety training was delegated from the busy HR people to the impersonal internet modules for self training

By God you can't have enough HSE training especially when the work force keeps getting slashed. Those who are left are going to be under more stress and doing maybe 2 or 3 other jobs on top of their own, so if there are any mishaps, the HSE tracking/training will prove it's your fault, so don't even think about suing the company. Yes, calm down and focus on your job(s) until you see that call from HR pop up on your phone.....then you can start to sweat

Well that is one solid strategy for making shipment and sales goals, must be MBA's from Wharton. People who made that decision should be safe. Maybe even got a bonus for it.

Erie business status started going south before the oil and gas crisis, when lunch and learns were a new expected part of everyday activities, fishing club meetings were a part of every working hour and overstocking satellite locations with unnecessary inventory became a top priority

Can still hear the forecast from Jim Ertl about the companies future as he stood in front of us all at St James 2 summers ago. FMC was growing at such an fast pace that they would need to hire 350 people a month just to keep up with business demand. Predictions were that FMC would grow from 14,000 to 20,000 employees worldwide. Jim told us that there would be tremendous career growth opportunity for many of us in the audience. Feel bad for a lot of the young people who took that to heart and made life decisions based on those predictions, like buying homes having children and establishing roots in Erie. Good luck to you all because Erie is pretty much a industrial turd and you'll have a very difficult time finding the same income you enjoyed from FMC anywhere else in the Erie area.

Agreed! This company has changed dramatically especially in the past couple of years. The core values BS is a bunch of crap management doesn't even follow it. Integrity, what a joke! It used to be about working hard and moving up now it's all about playing the game and kissing a$$.

Yeah I remember back in the day when FMC was so different. I miss the good ole boy system that had job security for a skillful hand, retirement, great insurance, family BBQ's, sitting on the tailgate of a truck at the gas station corner of Gears drinking with Bubba. Working hard, but playing hard, when coveralls had respect and the St. James buffet was good and you could go there and eat in company uniforms.

I sit here today wondering what happened to our company that took us from there to here before I could retire. Seems like everything changed so fast and every change if you all think about it makes the company worse to work at if you keep your job. Whatever happens is going to happen now, if I get called in I'll ask them to just shut up, tell me if I get any package and then ask if I can get my stuff and go. I'm not even interested in their corporate message written on a prompt card they read off.

She booked 9 rooms at GP from 8am to 1pm Thursday. The 1st time they had a big layoff they did that to throw us off and laid off the day before so it could be as early today. At this point just rip off the bandaid FMC!
