I saw this article today in LinkedIn. The guy doesn't make direct reference to either HPQ or HPE, but it's more than obvious... He definitively hit the nail on the head. He doesn't seem to be a professional writer, so I doubt this gets spread to a huge distribution. Mark, everyone knows that Meg & Dion's ultimate goal is to sell what remains of HP in pieces (making themselves tons of money in the process) to make investors very happy. They just can't do it overnight. The best thing that could happen to them is getting fired in 1-2 years... That way, they leave with parachutes worth millions, and have someone else clean the mess. Very, very predictable...
A. Jackson, in the cycle you mentioned, "Sell" should be replaced with "Sell-at-a-huge-loss". I'm still amazed how plenty of the ones that created the whole mess still have upper level jobs at both Companies. The guy that wrote the article was too light on them. He should have been much more harsh.

Both companies will survive. They are the ultimate experts in the "LALMLSLS" cycle. No one is better than them.... (Layoff>Acquire>Layoff>Merge>Layoff>Sell>Layoff>Spin-Off and start all over again in an endless loop)
It was actually sad reading this. Sad because he simply told the truth... In a different way, but the truth. HP was a great Company years ago, and now it's just a joke. I don't agree with the final fate he stated. HP, Inc and HPE are just too big to be acquired.
Weird, funny article. I have to admit I enjoyed reading it. He slammed Dell as well!
