Thread regarding ITT Educational Services Inc. layoffs

Entrenched CEO = Negative HQ Press = No Enrollments = Nationwide ITT employee Layoffs

July 5, 2016 - It has become evident the Board will not call for the resignation of the ITT Tech CEO. In any other major company this CEO would have been forced to resign months, if not years ago. Tell me how a CEO gets annual bonus checks of six and seven figures when enrollment is drastically down, stock prices are the lowest they have ever been, multiple fronts of litigation are taking place and overall company morale is desolate beyond description. Because of this, great employees are now bringing their talents to other companies outside of the for-profit education sector, while others have begun updating their resumes.

A talentless and reactive CEO is entrenched at the helm. For certain, all Indy Senior Management having drank the Kool-Aid have become blind and lack the testicular fortitude to do or say anything which might still yet save ITT Tech by correcting its' course back to its' original mandate...you know the one that actually provided a real hands-on education not some virtual facsimile because it is cheaper to deliver. While Management is fluffing and puffing its' plumage before the Feds and its' accreditation body, the company is now in free-fall. No amount of slick ads can salvage this company. Only the immediate departure of this CEO could have any positive impact and restore confidence among employees and investors. After all, had any employee done or caused what this CEO has, they would have been terminated.

Due to the inability of the ITT CEO and Senior Management to make proper business choices over the past few years, combined with the negative press which has and is being generated, enrollment numbers across the nation are not just dropping but disappearing all together.

Be it known, ITT Tech employees, many of you will be receiving your severance notices as HQ goes to the small market model to conserve cash and protect Indy Management. Those employees who remain on campus, will be required to fill multiple roles. Roles which individually are already burdensome and difficult to execute according to ITT Tech policies and procedures.

With this irresponsible move by ITT HQ, students will only receive less attention, much lower functionality and capability of instruction. In general, just another poke in the eye combined with a watered-down post-secondary education effort . Business as usual for this ITT Tech CEO!

If you are thinking about ITT Tech for your education, recognize there are some truly superior campus personnel all across the country that are here to support you. But at the moment, you will not be receiving the hands on education for the future, all of us who work and care for this company want you to have.

"Was hired three weeks ago. Left another position to go there"

...what did they say about that? ...probably nothing or "too bad" I'd hit them up for more severance

Just got laid off from I TT Tech. Was hired three weeks ago. Left another position to go there, so company has endangered my ability to make a living. The entire admissions team were laid off, after being told we were safe.Once again upper management shows no regard for employees and has deceptive hiring practices.

I say let him stay. That way he'll be easier to find when they come to arrest his scrawny ass

Right on. Kevin Modaney came to our campus. That little shrimp made me sick. He wad speaking out of his rear-end. He lined his pockets real good.

Your post is right on. After being employed for years with ITT Tech, this is the first time I've finally felt like this is the end. I feel so sorry for those key employees that got laid off, the current employees that are now stuck with extra responsibilities but having to keep a positive front for the staff and students and most importantly for the students who will suffer from this.

I will speak well of many of the local campus leaders & even many at HQ...The upper mgmt. "rules" like Saddam or Kim Jong-un, one false move & you are out. The pressure is constant and well-entrenched---go with the flow or else.

@IeRIfQ5

I agree with most of what you say but I doubt that Modany's departure would make much difference at this point. In addition to Modany leaving the company would need to lose the management team who went along with Modany, the board which supported Modany and the campus administration staff who didn't recognize what was wrong about the company's direction.

It is also difficult to see how the ITT Tech brand could be restored sufficiently to attract students or to persuade former academic staff that things have really changed.

The accuracy of this article is spot on. Modaney is a cancer in a well tailored suit. The facilities are well maintained outwardly to attract students but its the internal workings of ITT TECH HQ, that has cheapened its education and is deceiving the students. Robbing the poor to support the wealthy Kevin Modaney
