Brands will not be enough in a time of competency-based education, MOOCs, nano degrees, badges and the infamous 'blockchain,' which is about to upset all education from Harvard on down.

The needs have changed and with it all delivery. In a sense the for-profits are literally on the bleeding edge, the question is will they make it. You also have WGU, The University of the People and The Open University out of the UK.

All remaining brands will be consolidated into South University over the next FY. EDMC will survive, sorry if that makes some people feel bad

Search for #southgrad on FaceBook and look at images. It was standing room only in the Savannah Convention center 2 weeks ago for South University.

Very impressive.

All those schools will go down like the Titanic. Face it EDMC had it's run but now the genie is out of the bottle and everyone knows their dirty deeds so they're going down it's just a matter of when the doors will finally be closed. I say good riddance to these fraudulent schools who stole from the students and taxpayers so they could get richer without providing a REAL QUALITY Education! They helped create a new entire generation of indebted servitude, Head my words, all of these schools will be closed soon enough!

It's not a real merger. Just because EDMC calls it a brand doesn't mean it's a separate company.

Why would South merge with Argosy's struggling Master's programs when Argosy has nothing to offer them? AUO has been reducing it's graduate team for months now. At this point, it's pretty much down to 4 people working doctoral and the much coveted clinical counseling Master's. Everyone else is working bachelor programs because they don't have enough business for master's programs. Merging would be good for Argosy, but it doesn't make much sense for John South to approve it if it's based on the Master's programs.

They are making money. Argosy will be merging with South soon enough. This will incorporate South's much need nursing program with Argosy's superior Master's programs and hopefully create some stability and brand cohesion.
